DemandScience (formally PureB2B) is used to generate high-quality MQLs from lead and demand generation. Was initially leveraged as content syndication lead prospecting, then moved into more strategic programs with telemarketing, scripting, and positive disposition leads. Also did some custom email and landing page programs as well.

We used DemandScience to develop MQLs and then called on them to convert them into booked meetings (SQLs). We also provided them with our own MQLs from a webinar and then had them call on us for us to generate SQLs via phone appointments/Zoom meetings.

Our data proved to be a lot better for a calling campaign that they ran very successfully. However, they lack integration into my calendar, Zoom, and Outreach. Many of the meetings did not occur because calendar invites looked like they were coming from DemandScience and not me. Lack of integration with Salesforce. When we provided them with content for content syndication, they provided us with the wrong target persona. My executives decided to use their data, and we got no results instead of targeting our ICP. When we gave them our own leads to call on with our ICP, they performed amazingly. 15-20 meetings were booked out of 135 MLS.
Support for the product was great. It just has its limitations in integrating with our sales enablement tools like salesforce, outreach, and Zoom.
The leads were pretty straight forward. However, their appointment setting did not integrate well into our system and many of the meetings didn't occur. I had to chase a lot of prospects and many times Demand Science didn't provide direct dials.

Thei support teams have been amazing and that is a primary reason that I continued to use the firm for so many years. In particular, Maria T. is and was the bomb! She deserves a medal for her professionalism, speediness and thoroughness of any and all follow up. Give her a raise, she's a keeper. I'd hire her if I had a role for her.

DemandScience helps us run multiple lead gen campaigns each quarter -- we are heavily reliant on the DS team to help us execute and strategize on campaigns/programs.
  • Customer service: Derek and Kate are two of the most dedicated, customer-oriented people I've ever worked with. They make my life easier and are flexible, adaptable, responsive and (most importantly) kind. I want to call out Derek Ostberg specifically here -- his customer service touch is golden -- he masters "pleasantly persistent" and is a star Account Exec in my eyes.
  • Organization: I want to specifically call out Kate Ferone here -- she is so responsive, so organized and is a really great project manager. She makes my experience as a customer easier and makes our campaigns/programs run smoothly.
  • Results: we've used a few different vendor partners to develop and execute similar lead gen/content synd programs, and we notice that DS constantly provides the results we're looking for (MQLs, SQLs, Fractional Pipe, etc.). DemandScience (DS) offers products designed to either identify, activate or convert leads. We’ve used DS to engage in-market buyers and identify warm leads. DS also offers products to help efforts in driving net new prospects into our view by layering in intent based data to identify our target audience.

  • DemandScience is agile in how they work with their clients. They were willing to modify their processes to accommodate ours.

DemandScience may be a good fit for anyone looking for high-volume outreach with a turnkey SDR service. SDR as a Service is a great alternative to augment any internal resources.

When you are exploring a new market or want to refresh your contacts in the existing market, DemandScience helps you add a really good chunk of quality leads to your database. Do not use them if you already have an established target audience - but only use them when you are starting off and are OK with providing some time for these leads to convert.
They are always responsive and help with any information requested. They support our objectives and help craft campaigns that would give us the best results. However, the engagement will last only until the end of the project. I would love to see them follow through to get the info whether these leads converted into pipeline or not.

On the demand generation team we are always looking for ways to obtain high-quality, high-intent leads with the lowest CPC possible. We often do this when we are launching new content campaigns or looking for ways to grow our top of funnel to ensure a full-funnel health. Because of this we use Demand Science for two-touch content syndication.

The company had no content strategy, and this was used as the kickoff trial to gauge the interest of our target markets to deploy a broader, more sophisticated content strategy.

DemandScience is better suited for companies with a more transactional sales cycle, perhaps less than 6 months in length. More advanced, lengthy, less transactional sales processes tend not to convert into viable leads after the one DemandScience content conversion and require additional nurture past what their program provides.
We had numerous account managers and campaign managers during our tenure with DemandScience. This stifled the ability for one - or two - people to accurately understand our more complex business and how the content assets we were using to generate leads could be improved upon. As such, we did not receive the feedback throughout the process we expected.

I think if you are in a market where they have more established contacts, you can be successful. For our efforts, the audience was lacking and took a while for us to build out. Additionally, we felt there was always the desire for Demand Science to put us into a bucket where they knew they had more established contacts vs. the categories we were looking for.
Support was outstanding, it was the best part of this experience. From the initial touch points with our account team and the support along the way via quick videos etc., it really helped make them stand out. I actually shared those videos with our own sales team to give them ideas on how to run successful outreach.

We have had great success with the leads that have come through from our DemandScience Activate content syndication campaigns. Having the option to layer in intent data, target account lists, and custom questions is a solid benefit and enable companies to get as close as possible to their ideal customer. We still have some slip-through that do not fit our target audience from time to time, but the team is always quick to replace those leads.
I have a great relationship with my client success manager, Alex. She is always responsive and always willing to advocate for our partnership and go above and beyond to ensure that we are happy with the program. She has gone to bat for us several times on pricing negotiations, program changes, and just overall flexibility.

It's great to be able to pinpoint exactly the personas, job titles, and seniorities of those you're reaching, and see those names come through in acquisition reports. We used the intent product through PureB2B and we're trying to bring in more leads for our sales team. This was the first time we were trying intent and we were told that the quality of leads would be better than traditional MQLs. The leads were nurtured, scored, and passed on to our BDR team.

If we were looking for just an ICP list - then PureB2B would have been great. We believed that these leads would engage with our emails at a higher rate and that the engagement would lead to more meetings for our salespeople. That did not happen as a result of our intent pilot.
Our rep was very reactive and would get back to us extremely quickly. I truly believed he wanted the campaign to succeed and did everything that was in his ability to get us there. He was also very pleasant to work with and very professional. I would say if the product had lived up to expectations, then it would be a 10.

We used DemandScience Activate for their content syndication and their telemarketing. The content syndication was extremely strong when we first use them. Towards the end of 2021, the quality of the service started to deteriorate. The quality of the leads was still high, but the customer service, the technical side, and the filtering was starting to become bad. Their content syndication program isn’t something you turn on and just let flow into your CRM. It’s something you need to check on a weekly basis to assure you got all the leads and that any suppressed keywords don’t make their way in on the telemarketing side. It was a complete disappointment, we were promised one thing and never got the result. Thousands of dollars were wasted. One of the services we used was discontinued and it wasn’t disclosed until after our campaign with them failed.

They’re cheap for a reason. If you have the extra time to comb through the leads delivered I say go with them. For us, we didn’t have the time. At the beginning of using them the account team on our account would do all the heavy lifting for us. Once DemandScience Activate was in the process of changing its name and discontinuing products, it plummeted.
I’m giving this a 4 because the original account team was super helpful, kind, and proactive. The account team assigned to you will make or break your campaign. The account team I was assigned in the later half of 2021 was not great.

DemandScience Activate has helped us grow our audience with the leads we want. We run highly targeted content-based ABM lead gen programs to support our Business Development team and grow our marketable audience. We are able to generate a predictable number of high-quality leads at a reasonable cost.

DemandScience Activate is a fantastic solution for filling your marketing and sales funnel with high-quality marketable leads, specific to your TAM. These leads are appropriate for marketing nurture and engagement - if you are expecting them to convert immediately to meetings, this is not the right program - but this is true for any program like this.
We have a dedicated account team who are able to support us with information and advice. Having this ongoing relationship is critical to running a successful program and looking at where to expand/where to pull back.

We use DemandScience Activate in both NA and EMEA for the targeted top-of-funnel lead generation geared to specific accounts, job titles, and regions. We have used both the general lead programs as well as BANT lead programs. DemandScience Activate has allowed us to run these top-of-funnel lead programs in our two key regions cost-effectively and we've seen positive results in terms of matches to our targeting.

  • Multiple geography programs that seem to be equally strong in results
  • Responsive customer point of contact, good communication
  • We would like to see more proactive communication on what's working and what's not without requiring a meeting - regular reporting cadence to assess asset quality
  • A dashboard view might be nice as well, again, so we can look at an asset and see how it's performing (or if it isn't) without having to wait on a rep to pull a report or schedule a walkthrough
We needed a vendor that could cover multiple regions with equal (or at least adequate) reach against our target account list and ideal customer profile. As we are pathfinding, having the flexibility to shift our targeting to align with the business was important as well. We found DemandScience Activate to be a good match on both of these counts. The only downside is visibility into asset performance and proactively being communicated with about whether or not we need to refresh some of the content. It would be helpful and maybe make the program more effective.
We didn't really use support much. It was fine when we did needed it for things like targeting adjustments or to ramp up a continuation of a program, but this isn't an area I can speak to very much.
It was not complicated to use.

We use DemandScience to increase lead generation. The key business problem they solve for us is increasing our reachable audience. The scope of our partnership is content to lead gen (they are distributing one of our e-books).

  • Low internal lift to get going
  • Was assured our niche audience was in their set but took some optimizing to get there as initial leads didn't quite hit.
  • Difficult to test applicability with a pilot, which would have been helpful to mitigate costs with lead relevance.
I think DemandScience is well suited for lead gen purposes at companies with a relatively large, well-known addressable audience (e.g. VP+ in F500s). They weren't quite as familiar with generating leads in high-tech startup fields (e.g. neobanks, fintech, crypto), although their CS team did a great job responding to feedback and optimizing our campaign accordingly.
The support definitely sets DemandScience apart. Communication is frequent and clear, and feedback is well received.
