Overall Satisfaction with ActivTrak
We use ActivTrak to validate management concerns regarding employee performance. Our usage policy is designed so the the tool is not used to go looking for problems but rather to verify suspected activities. The use of the system is strictly limited and is only used when authorized by Human Resources.
Pros
- Excellent quick view of productivity ratio
- Clear visualization of types of activities over a time time period
- Very granular detailed information showing all activities without gaps
Cons
- Would like to have the ability to create custom reports
- Would like to see more built in reports
- We have been able to use the information gathered to council and retain employees
- We have been able to validate causes of poor performance and take actions where necessary.
- Top users overview graphics answers many questions very quickly
- I have been able to answer questions from HR and managers very quickly and with confidence in the data.
ActivTrak has enabled us to have the tough conversations that are sometime needed with the confidence of knowing that our supporting data is valid. Previously the tools we were using to monitor productivity and work time did not consistently capture data and did not have methods for classifying activities. This resulted in large amounts of time being spent to digest the data without having full confidence that everything was being included.
We have been able to review and compare user activities while remote versus being in the office and make determinations on how effective our remote work policy is working.
We have not spent much time analyzing our process workflows and resource utilization with the data that ActivTrak provides. This is definitely an area where we could gain more value from the system if we choose to do that in the future.
Systrak was purchased as an application performance monitoring system but it's usage morphed into user activity tracking once the pandemic hit and everyone went home to work. Even though it did provide a good bit of data about user activities, the data collection was on the client and was not accessible if the client machine was not on and connected to a network. The agent was also not as stable at ActivTrak so there were frequently large gaps of time in the user reports which was not accounted for. This made the system unusable for employee consultations and HR activities.
