Overall Satisfaction with ADP SmartCompliance
ADP SmartCompliance is being used by many departments within the company - Payroll, Accounting, Treasury, and Benefits.
Pros
- Information that is detailed and ready for review almost immediately in some aspects and within 24 hours in other aspects. Information is available quickly and accurately.
- They have quick and easy access to remedies if necessary.
- They have many services to choose from. You can start out with a few services and add many others that are available as you become more familiar with all the services that they provide.
Cons
- When a agency account has been inactivated it cannot be re-activated on the SmartCompliance website. This information has to be given to your account rep to be updated manually and sometimes this can lead to a delay.
- The customer service phone service for the ADP Wisely service is very bad. No understanding or a language barrier is a very difficult service to deal with. Also working with them to correct a situation was impossible. It is basically non existent.
- Lawson (Oracle SQL)
ADP is a much better product, especially if you use all their products together to create a seamless payroll system that works much better when all the products work together.
Using ADP SmartCompliance
20 - Payroll and Accounting

- Processing wage payments, processing taxes, processing garnishments.
- More training on legislative updates.
Evaluating ADP SmartCompliance and Competitors
Not Sure
- Product Features
- Product Usability
- Prior Experience with the Product
If I had the authority I would use all of ADP's products together, instead of trying to piece together many products to do what one system does all by itself (which is ADP).
ADP SmartCompliance Implementation
Change management was minimal - We had a change in ADP tax manager and that change was seamless.
When we had a change in payroll system from Lawson to Workday the implementation was a little difficult because of the changes to the Workday system that occurred that was due to the third party service (hired for the implementation) that made changes to the system that had long lasting and unexpected results that took months to fix.

- 3 party implementation specialists hired to help with the implementation that didn't do a very good job. They couldn't answer questions, they had a very minimal training program. Do extensive review of implementation partner before hiring them.

Using ADP SmartCompliance
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Like to use Relatively simple Easy to use Well integrated Consistent Quick to learn Convenient Feel confident using Familiar | None |
- The Wage Payments, Employment Tax, Wage Garnishments, Invoicing and Funding are all very easy products to use.
- The only problems I have had with ADP products is when it is being used with other products such as Workday. We had a lot of problems with Wage Garnishment integrations with Workday. The 2 systems had problems working together.
- Workday's payroll system has had some problems working with ADP. Most issues have been fixed over time.
