Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

As a healthcare nonprofit, we use ClickUp for a number of functions. We use it to manage the staff hiring, onboarding, and off-boarding process as well as the grant solicitation/management process. We also use ClickUp to capture/take action on meeting notes, manage recurring tasks (e.g., running monthly reports), and execute larger, multi-step projects (e.g., launching a new medical mobile unit).
  • Provides a clean interface for users to add, view, and take action on tasks
  • Integrates Docs and tasks for more coherent workflows
  • Provides a robust way to capture task information and collaborate with others on specific tasks
  • Very glitch-prone. From time to time, the software will delete information, requiring us to go back in and re-add it.
  • Insufficient Doc permissions/unintuitive Doc folders
  • Unable to fully integrate Microsoft suite/replace Outlook calendar or Teams
  • Much higher levels of collaboration/productively
  • Broken down silos between departments/teams within the organization
  • Dramatically reduced emails/calls/Teams messages
ClickUp has helped us not only plan projects more efficiently but helped us develop timelines, assign team members, and build a culture of accountability. I'd say communication has improved as well, although a more robust chat function would help us to ditch Teams altogether. The note-taking functionality has helped us to capture important notes and reduce the number of required follow-up meetings as well.
Our hiring process was pretty dysfunctional before, and ClickUp has helped us, through the power of automation, streamline the workflow and ensure that everyone knows what they're responsible for at each stage of the process. While we haven't been able to eliminate any tools from our tech stack yet, I'm hopeful that in the future we'll be able to remove Teams from our workflow.
ClickUp has a really nice UI and seems to be committed to making the software better. the Docs functionality was also a huge benefit for our organization. The pricing was also far more competitive than Asana or monday.com. However, I'm hoping the ongoing glitches are resolved soon, as this complicates day-to-day use.

No

Did implementation of ClickUp go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ClickUp again?

Yes

ClickUp is VERY customizable, which allows users to really make it whatever they want it to be. This makes for a fairly high learning curve initially, but it's allowed us to build some really unique workflows tailored to our organization. However, I wouldn't put all of your tasks in here just for the sake of having one system. For example, ClickUp isn't going to replace something like Google Drive or Microsoft SharePoint. It isn't designed to be a "vault" for all of your documentation – rather, I'd say, it's intended to complement systems like Google Drive or SharePoint. It's also NOT capable of replacing an electronic medical records (EMR) system or a more robust CRM like Salesforce. However, when not glitchy, it's a great project management tool (or just for capturing those day-to-day things you don't want to forget to do).
