Overall Satisfaction with Heap

We use Heap across our SaaS products to track product usage, build reports and create a better product experience with that information. Prior to Heap, we used a tool that required us to put tracking tags in manually which meant we never had historical data when we figured out we needed to add a tag. Plus it meant we’d have tons of redundant tags in our codebase which was another thing to manage. Heap tracks everything from day one and when you figure out you need to track something, you’ll have all the data from the day it was installed. Our overall goal was to democratize insights and make them more accessible across the org. I believe we’re close to achieving that with almost all roles having access and building regular reports. I’m enjoying seeing the recent updates, it looks like Heap is moving toward some level of AI/automation where it suggests answers/insights rather than relying on you trying to figure it out. That’s pretty exciting and hopefully leads to Heap reaching a new level Would love it to get to the point where you can just ask it a question in natural language and get answers.
  • Democratising insights and reporting across your organisation
  • Tracking product usage
  • Figuring out marketing performance
  • Telling the story behind the data, more than graphs
  • More natural ways to ask questions of data
  • Inform users if funnels aren’t set up correctly
  • Tell us why something is happening. I.e sign-ups are up because more traffic to the site or than a particular channel has gotten more conversions
Mixpanel forced us to put tracking tags everywhere which wasn’t helping us achieve our goals. amplitude looked good but found it harder to use
