Overall Satisfaction with Heap

We use Heap to help identify areas of friction during our onboarding flow or configuration wizards designed to help our customers. We're able to run experiments and determine success or failure of those experiments. We're able to visualise customer experiences and identify which areas to focus on. Heap allows us to make decisions based on usage data.

Pros

  • It tracks usage data before you know which data you want to track
  • Its simple UI allows you to quickly mark key elements as components of interest
  • Really useful and good looking dashboard facility makes it easier to talk through the metrics.

Cons

  • Heap doesn't offer a heatmap
Heap is analytics ready and already gathering insights. You don't need to know which metrics to track then wait for data to be collected. You just choose to report on them and the data is already available.

For tracking the number of unique users or sessions across a SaaS platform where trials are in play and multiple domains are in use. For any multi step wizards to determine if the right questions are being asked. For just generic page view metrics and usage detail in the same place, rather than using different tools for different things.
