Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I am a UX Researcher and I use Miro a lot. I use it mostly as a collaboration tool to facilitate workshops (e.g., research scoping sessions where I ask my stakeholders to share their goals and questions) or to lead brainstorms (e.g., following research recommendations, different team members use Miro to share ideas they may have about how to solve certain issues). I sometimes also use it non-collaboratively, just as a document I create for myself to synthesize research sessions (e.g., do thematic analysis).
  • Tons of collaboration features that are very useful
  • Great usability
  • Its vibe as a tool is kind of fun and lighthearted, which I think helps set the right mood for workshops, brainstorms, etc.
  • Bugs are rare
  • I haven't been able to figure out some of the features that show up at the top (dot voting, talk track...). They don't seem very intuitive and, because I usually use Miro for team workshops, I haven't found the right occasion to try these features 'safely.' I guess I could try to set up time with a colleague to try them, but I don't want to bother anyone. So maybe have like a quick primer on how to use these features, or a sandbox environment where I could try them with 'fake' team members, etc.
  • Some things seem easy to scale infinitely (e.g., images, text boxes), but others seem hard. I sometimes try to add labels to shapes, but as I scale the shape, the label reaches a maximum size. So I need to create a text box that I can scale up as much as I want and put that on top of the shape. It's a minor annoyance, but I encounter this issue a lot. (Perhaps I should just keep the scale of my elements smaller in general)
  • I've tried the 'Graphs' feature but it's pretty clunky and too 'basic'. It would be nice to be able to create simple graphs, instead of screenshoting them and copy-pasting them.
  • I love the stickers, and I'd love to see more of those!
  • I've tried browsing templates, but very rarely I find one that is perfect for what I'm trying to do. I sometimes wish it was easier to create a template of your own miro boards for your own internal use, or a template of specific elements that you often have to create (that you can use internally.)
  • My current position doesn't allow me to make these estimates. I have no idea.
Definitely, it's the go-to collaboration team for me and my team. We're spread out around different cities and it's allowed us to do whiteboarding in a very efficient way. I've actually done some 'in person', analog whiteboarding in an offsite recently, and we were all saying how we now miss Miro, since it makes it much easier to see other people's comments, react to them, keep a timer, etc.
I think Miro has more features than Mural and yet, it manages to be more intuitive and easy to learn.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

It is a great facilitating tool for visual thinking, both for doing it alone or in a group. It's particularly well suited for moderating group discussions, keeping track of people's thoughts, for prioritizing ideas, etc.
