Overall Satisfaction with Paycom

We currently only use Paycom as our payroll interface for our entire 55 employee operation. It has improved the payroll processing tremendously. It addresses the desire to review our payroll input before actually submitting it for accuracy. We are now able to have online access for our employees. We moved from ADP, who at the time, did not offer these things.
  • The input is simply and straight-forward.
  • The ACA Dashboard is simply and the support offered to insure completeness and accuracy is very helpful!
  • We are able to review the data entry of payroll with a preview before submitting it for processing; which gives us peace of mind for quality control.
  • At the time, when running a single payroll, such as a bonus run, there is not an "off switch" for 401K. I have to go into each employee file and delete the deduction before I run their end-of-year bonuses. We do not take out 401K as standard for bonus runs unless an employee requests it. It is labor intensive and room for error is great. For example, my last bonus run (Dec 2016) I mistakenly RE-input 2 401K amounts for 2 employees when I ran the next regular payroll. It's annoying that we can stop all deductions EXCEPT 401K. I don't understand how that isn't a option.
  • When I call for help, I ask for our dedicated Payroll Specialist and 8 of 10 times, they aren't available and you can't be placed on hold to wait for them. Why even have a dedicated person for your account if they aren't available to you or even able to be placed on hold for them? You can have them call you back, but sometimes, you want to do what you are doing and get it done. Especially when payroll isn't your only task. I would like it if there was a live online chat with your specialist. And if they aren't available, you can wait. With perhaps a time stamp saying how long the wait might be.
  • We are able to have accuracy due to the preview option we utilize. We do not have to rerun or fix mistakes with manual checks. Due to this, we don't use time unwisely and are able to focus more on improving other aspects of our department. ROI seems to be an upward swing with very little issues due to employee check mishaps.
We looked into the other options with Paycom, the onboarding for new hires, the applicant tracking, etc. We felt it was a very thorough and comprehensive interface. We do not have it within our budget to use these features, but they are very attractive and can definitely see value in them for a bigger firm with higher turnaround.
It works very well for our small firm. It is quick, simple, and user-friendly. It can be cross-trained easily if your payroll person is not available due to being out for some reason. I was able to train my manager while I was on maternity leave quite easily. He found it simple and easy to use as well. We are not in a financial situation able to utilize the other HR functions available. They are attractive and seem very useful. But it is not within our budget, for the size of our firm and the small amount of turnaround we are fortunate to have.
