Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We implemented the full suite of Paylocity--
HR & Payroll; Time & Attendance including PTO requests; Community; Benefits; integrated our 401k vendor, criminal background check vendor, and e-verify; Recruiting so integration with Indeed.

Previously, we were either using multiple systems to manage our 401k and benefits administration or an Excel spreadsheet to manage our PTO requests.
  • Paid Time Off requests. Everything is available in the app so employees can see their balances, request time, and get a notification about their manager's decision all in real time.
  • Paycheck visibility-- Employees can see their detailed paychecks from the app and they're notified when they're accessible. Employees love this transparency.
  • Benefits administration-- Employees can enroll and view their benefit elections right on the app.
  • Time & Attendance for 3rd shift-- Adding punches for 3rd shifters, requesting PTO for 3rd shifters, adding attendance points for 3rd shifters is clunky.
  • Attendance Point tracking-- We have a credit that employees can earn every 30 days, this is not automatically assigned on a regular basis. Paylocity has attendance point tracking capability but the customization is limited.
  • Shift Differentials and Retro Pay- Paylocity can automatically calculate retro pay for employees working 1st shift but it does not factor in any shift differential for employees working 2nd or 3rd.
  • Performance Reviews-- There is robust enough customization for when the review needs to be completed and/or approved by multiple tiers.
  • Reduced 1 FTE in the HR dept
  • Removed 6 outside systems or Excel spreadsheets-- benefits administration, 401k and ESOP administration, PTO tracking, E-verify, background checks, Indeed job posting.
We elected to eliminated 1 FTE from HR so we are still busy but yes, we are able to focus more on recruiting which benefits the business than on "busy work".
We regularly use the Impressions section of Community and Surveys to gain feedback from our employees on a variety of topics.
UKG was very robust and customizable but expensive and hard to manage without a very experienced HRIS/IT person on staff.
ADP was archaic and choppy.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

Paylocity is a good system for medium sized companies (100-500 employees). It is robust enough that it will simplify your life and get rid of those ancillary systems and Excel spreadsheets but it's still simplistic enough that it's both easy for employees and administrators to use. I was really looking for a system that HR could implement and maintain ourselves vs. having to get IT involved and we were able to accomplish that.
