Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

I am the current Sage administrator. I set permissions, users, transactions, and anything else required. We have implemented Sage for all business activities except for production ERP activity, as Sage does not have any manufacturing capabilities. We therefore have daily transaction integration for our US entity relating to any inventory transactions, material receipts, or products shipped. For receipts and sales invoices, the activity uploads into Sage for AR, AP, and other activity or reporting. Sage helps us with live reporting of distribution sales, open A/R, and open A/P. We also now have the ease of approving PORs and invoices by user across a matrix and international organization.

  • Correcting transactions and reposting across previous months for up-to-date ledgers
  • Extremely confusing layout/linking of report design fields to match activity screens and data; much trial & error is required
  • Inability to easily make setup edits with so many fields locked after creation
  • Inability to delete unnecessary or ill-designed reports after the users leave
  • We have not prepared such an analysis due to recent restructuring
  • However, I do know that the simplicity has allowed for some personnel reduction
Global consolidation previously took about a day each time. We now press a button and accomplish it in minutes or less. Our internal "billing" between entities is aligned for sales orders and purchase orders instantly and saves much time. Receipts easily upload from our manufacturing system, which means matching to receipts has also saved us much time as well.
As previously stated, we save days every month in consolidating financials with great flexibility in updating after journal entries are changed, added, or deleted. We are able to now run separate statements rather than keep making offline changes in Excel. We are just beginning to learn project accounting to assist our marketing team with managing projects and events.
We needed much assistance from our external vendor (Cargas) in setup, as we were combining data and activity from two different ERP systems. However, with training from phone calls to Teams meeting to documentation, we gradually became more capable to start designing our own custom transactions, reports, and other capabilities. We do run into some challenges in upkeep or making improvements, and the Sage community support is helpful when we report cases but not nearly as much when performing documentation or searching for other user advice.

For our small company, it was mainly about price. However, a cloud based service was also necessary for worldwide ease of use and live data.
