Overall Satisfaction with ScienceLogic SL1

We use SL to collapse multiple network monitoring systems across the organization into a single, unified platform.
  • Developer friendly
  • Easy to train customer base on its use.
  • Architecture/stack is modern.
  • The support process is slow.
  • Support level one has proven very unhelpful to power users.
  • The upgrade process is tedious and prone to failure.
  • We were able to drop M&S on multiple platforms.
  • We were able to begin reselling SL and recoup some costs.
  • Our MTTR is lowered by having a more powerful tool.
  • We were able to integrate BSS platforms for less swivel chair.
Yes - SolarWinds Orion, PRTG, Nagios, Cisco CTC, Alcatel, OpenNMS, and lots of other vendor-specific platforms.
It absolutely did. Out of the box we were alerted to conditions that our previous NMS did not know existed.
We leverage SL to grow all aspects of our business, as it keeps those services available and with eyes on. We also resell SL as a monitoring-as-a-service to recoup some cost.
We integrate with our ITSM and CMBD platforms for some light automation. We also pull data from SL into multiple platforms for information sharing, reporting, etc.
  • We've been able to create our own code for monitoring previously unthought of platforms.
  • We've been able to reduce swivel chair in a manner we did not think possible by sharing data via API.
ScienceLogic won out on our metric scoring system by more than two-fold over similarly priced platforms.
ScienceLogic is adaptable to most modern organizations that need a system that can handle the bulk of their environment, if not all of it. It is not for small companies, as the complexity can prove overwhelming if no in-house developer exists.
