We needed to replace our existing CPM system as we had outgrown it. There were five main stakeholders involved, and it took us several months to research products. However, our purchase decision was delayed by over one year due to the pandemic.

Comparable experience on other review sites. TrustRadius has a cleaner look and is more user-friendly, in my opinion.
We reviewed these, but they had little influence other than to validate our shortlist selections.
We try to evaluate the whole package, including reviews, how a product would fit into our environment, cost vs. benefit/functionality, integrations, user experience, white papers, product review, references, total cost (implementation, licensing, maintenance, etc.). We also try to break out must-haves vs. nice to haves and evaluate according to the total cost to determine which is the most cost-effective. This really is to strip out the bells and whistles in order to focus on the core problem we're trying to solve.
