Overall Satisfaction with WebPT
We use WebPT as our physical therapy EMR as well as for our patient scheduling tool and for our revenue management cycle. We also use WebPT to process credit card transactions, send invoices for non-insurance based services, and maintain our staff admin and support tasks via the scheduler. WebPT also provides analytics that we use for monthly reports and performance reviews.
Pros
- Customizable EMR
- Insurance Billing
- Easy scheduling
- All encompassing system
Cons
- Pre-authorization management
- Lack of communication with changes/updates/bugs
- Timeliness of RCM with denials
- The payment on claims when they go through correct is phenomenal and very timely.
- Our productivity is better as notes get done quicker and able to focus more on patient care.
- Sometimes the long flowsheet gets hard to see when treating a chronic patient.
When I learned how to use the Analytics tool our practice really began to grow. As I started the practice alone, I simply treated who came in the door. As our company grew, I needed to learn to manage everything from the budget to other PT productivity, use of support staff, and payment on visits. I also had to learn how to balance current treatments with A/R and past denials management. The Analytics tool was very intimidating at first because there are so many ways you can look at your clinic from above rather than within. Once I got familiar with the tool and could actually see problems and successes in our business, we were able to make small adjustments and manage not only patient care better but also manage staff care better. This has helped our business grow incredibly not just in revenue but also quality.
We never have to leave the system. Everything we do—besides Google Chat—is in the WebPT. Patient reminders, intake packets (although we still print for patient preference), scheduling, scanning, faxing, printing, treatment, billing, payment processing, HEP (although we use another source for easy if use), and performance revenues. Everything is in this system except for obtaining pre-auths and insurance referrals.
I personally liked Revflow’s RCM, billing, and customer service better, but WebPT bought the company and integrated their system. Since changing to WebPT, we pretty much only have to use one product for all our clinic management rather than different tools when we were on Revflow. What we slightly lost in quality on RCM we gained in functionality everywhere else.
