Figure out if you're looking for a conferencing tool or a training tool. If the primary purpose is going to be for web meetings, then I would likely look elsewhere. There is better standalone conferencing software. If you're trying to upgrade your training platform, this is a great option. They offer an abundance of tools that make this a viable option for those who will be presenting without producers as well.

I specialize in Android development specifically. I am the team lead for mobile development in my organization. Most times I have new members in my team who require help working with the Android studio platform, and in order to save my time and energy in movement, I simply connect to their PC's view with TeamViewer and guide them on development models more efficiently.

Pros

  • All of my Adobe presentations look extremely professional. The ability to import files that I've created in other programs allows me to utilize different design tools and bring their best elements with me.
  • Breakout rooms are excellent for taking a large class and separating them into smaller groups where they can collaborate and then come back to the large group experience. This is vital for us in building a virtual learning space that people are actively engaged in.
  • Simple interface for starting cameras and microphones. We've used some other products that needed their own manual for turning on a webcam. This is a simple click and even provides a preview before anything goes live. This is in addition to a splash screen when you enter a meeting that will walk all new users through the process, saving the presenters time.

  • The software itself is a powerful support and control tool, extremely easy to install, configure and use, so with a minimum induction, practically any user with internet service and the respective access permits, can connect from their house with the office server.
  • Not only allowed access to people who were in remote locations with the server of the central office, but also constituted an additional way to offer technical assistance to these people, in case they require it, being constituted together with the use of the whataspp tool is fundamental to the daily life of some of our workers who normally do field work.

Cons

  • Upload of Presentations: There seems to be a problem with the uploading of PowerPoint presentations at times. This results in multiple test, converting into PDFs, changing it up for the best results. This is because there are times when the images are lost, slides are missing or other small things.
  • Sound Issues: There have been instances where our out-of-house guest speaker has not been able to hear us (being the host). This resulted in a lot of typing back and forth between people. Also, there are times when there the is a lot of echoing in the room, so testing is absolutely recommended.
  • Reporting on Attendees: There should be a way to ensure that all email address are collected to show to the host who attended. At times, participants use fake name, abbreviations, and so forth. So this means that it can be very time consuming to review at the end. Plus, we use Marketo for the follow-up activities and Adobe does not transmit the right statuses, so this requires a manual fix at times. More time being taken.
  • New release of product features: It has taken a long time to get video recordings to be converted into MP4, which now can be done.

  • Direct Access. TeamViewer provides remote access & control, but it doesn't provide a means to directly access remote device's parameters such as registry, current resource usage (CPU, RAM, Disk, Network), current available services and log management; you still need to access the remote device and access them from there. It does include File transfer though.
  • Version parity. On some versions (currently v13), you require forcing update your remote partner device's TeamViewer agent before beginning any engagement, which can derivate in time loss if you're in a hurry for service delivery.
  • Recording flexibility. As mentioned before, the video interactions can be recorded for future references, but the recording is made in TeamViewer's proprietary format (.TVS), which requires another TeamViewer client playback.

The longer you use Adobe Connect, the longer you are likely to use it. Because you can build more and more resources over time, creating rooms that you re-use, recorded content you can repurpose, and tools that form the basis of ever increasing productivity, the more you use Connect, the more productive you become. Unlike competing products where, with every meeting you essentially start over -- setting up your resources for each meeting -- in my Connect rooms, I have highly tuned tools to accomplish my knowledge transfer goals. When I want to conduct another session - I send a link out to the appropriate room and instantly we are all focusing on getting a job done together. This ability of Adobe Connect to make you productive at an ever quickening rate is a competitive advantage

Usability

Adobe Connect9.0
Based on 5 answers
As sophisticated a product as Adobe Connect, the ease of use is outstanding. In my experience, even a user with very little knowledge of Adobe Connect can begin using and even leading sessions with very little training to get started with the basic features. Additional training is needed to become comfortable with the number of available features, but learning curve even for those is no steeper than would normally be expected from similar software.

I gave this a 5 rating as I'm thinking that is as close to neutral as I can get. I have never used the in-person training but to complete this review I need to answer this question. As I already answered I learned the software on my own without the help of any resources at TeamViewer.

The ability to have most of the functionality of a full LMS at a fraction of the cost is huge. I can create manage and deploy both synchronous and asynchronous training based on the situation and all of my training is tracked through a series of easily created reports

I have never used the online training either. I have watched a few informational videos that were helpful when learning how to do a specific procedure within TeamViewer and get the most out of the software by utilizing one of the many features that are available with the software. Again, 5 if for neutral.

Implementation

Adobe Connect7.9
Based on 4 answers
Prices do not seem to vary much among resellers of the Adobe Connect hosted license; the only price variation you're likely to find are among the audio providers. When implementing, you may also wish to look into expanding the amount of storage you are allowed on the server to avoid any problems later on as your library of files starts to build up

Alternatives Considered

We looked at GoToMeeting and WebEx, and for our size and the number of sessions we do, they did not make as much sense financially. Although Adobe Connect may seem like it requires a lot of money up front, the others make up for it in the end because of additional charges for meetings over a certain size, etc. We also preferred the interface of Adobe Connect as well as the high-quality recordings and server storage.

All these solutions are great in any way for remote support, however (with exception to Zoom) they all lack TeamViewer collaborative features such as video conferencing and remote live interaction via phone, video and/or chat, and event recording. Being Zoom the prime contender on this aspects, we had issues on some companies with firewall restrictions to acquire Zoom sessions via the web - on those cases in which the Zoom client installation was not allowed -, whereas TeamViewer, using a non-installable, ready-to-run lightweight app, allowed us to interact with such customers.

Return on Investment

  • Positive: Creation of Video Catalogue for existing customers.
  • Helps customer retention through nurturing and providing of content that is easily catalogued.
  • Positive: Links for sales & customer service.
  • Rooms and layouts can be styled and cloned easily. This saves time and ensures that content is always available once it has been created. Definitely helps to add to the bottom line through the professionalism.
  • Negative: Use of some PowerPoint presentations and LeadGen webinars.
  • Some presentations fail and partially load for no apparent reason. Has meant that some webinars weren't as fluid as we liked and time lost to figure out the issues.
  • Negative: API with Marketo.
  • The syncing of information between AdobeConnect and Marketo is not entirely reliable. Of 100 leads, about 40 will synced, where the last 60 will have to be manually checked and converted. This means that a CSV file is pulled from Adobe and also from Marketo, where every signup is then cross verified manually. Extremely time consuming.
  • Negative: Can't use KeyNotes.
  • Means that some presentations have to be converted to ensure usage. Animations are lost and other design elements.
Bjørn Erik Ekstrøm profile photo
  • I was able to get away with the free version for quite some time before business usage was detected. After that the cost is more than we would like to pay but the features make it worth it in the long run.
  • Really there is no negative impact at this time. TeamViewer saves us time and money being able to remotely service our many office locations without leaving the corporate office.
