The organization should have an individual or 2 to dedicate time as administrators of the software. They will need to understand data, software design, and the needs of the organization in order to best customize and manage the software.

Banking applications require tracking and compliance where it is suitable to use Pega and these features are the backbone of any Pega application.Retail applications may not get enough value for money by using Pega as the processes are not complex. But still, Pega is a game changer for some of the retail companies who are operating in different geographies.

Cons

  • We believe Apricot could offer secure web forms beyond the restricted 'Tier 1' allowance. In other words, currently, secure web forms are only available as options for Tier 1 records. This means we cannot have live registration for Tier 2 records, which is very restrictive, seeing as we would like to capture data as clients sign in at events or trainings we have.
  • We would like to see a feature similar to what TurboTax presents on its site that prompts you with questions to better generate the next step. In an Apricot case, it would generate these prompts to help us build our reports. We have the criteria we're looking to fulfill, we just need to better reproduce it in the sections on the Apricot report and this type of functionality would help.

  • It is a solution which can be quickly customized for a market-ready product but there is are limitations on that. To go beyond a certain limit needs professionals which are hard to find.

Alternatives Considered

We selected Apricot to warehouse our client data and to be able to serve as a backup to our data reports for our funder. Apricot is more fluid than the three (3) entities I've worked with in the past. In other words, Apricot allows us to now go from Intake Form data entry directly to Reporting, as we've figured out how to generate corresponding report features on the platform. We can generate reports and see reporting information whenever we want, especially in times ahead of our actual need to deliver reports to the funder; whereas with the other platforms, I was not able to generate reports from those entities with direct client Intake information.I truly enjoy the secure web form feature, too, because it allows clients to enter information on-the-spot at our center, eliminating the middle man (my staff) having to do it. Ultimately, we cut down on the days we take to generate reports, altogether, and are able to repurpose that newfound time to program delivery and program recruitment.

Our business needs have a lot of dealing wherein case management is of utmost importance. We had to have a concrete structure of cases, child cases, and their binding cases. Also, data appropriation and its synchronization in these particular cases also play a very important role in our daily delivery routine.

Return on Investment

  • Apricot by Social Solutions has streamlined communication within our organization. Within the system you can set up emails to be sent when certain conditions are met. We use these email alerts to tell our case managers when they have been assigned a client, to tell supervisors when documents need to be signed, to let our finance department know when clients under specific grants have entered or left a program, etc. In 9 months of partial implementation, over 6,000 emails have been sent through Apricot.
  • Apricot by Social Solutions has given us a real picture of how clients interact with our programs. For example, we thought that our Clothing & Household Goods program primarily served the same clients who come for breakfast or lunch. We've discovered that is not the case, and we meet unique clients through that program.
  • Apricot by Social Solutions has improved our follow up with clients. For example, in our Employment Program, we should be following up with clients 30, 60, and 90 days after they are placed in a job. We have set up a report through Apricot that tells staff which clients have hit the 30, 60, and 90 days with their contact information right in the report.
