Dice Open Web
DICE Open Web works well when you want to find IT specific candidates that are available in your local area. What I particularly like is that if you post a job, Dice Open Web/Talent Search will return potential candidates that meet your requirements. It is a proactive way they provide candidates from what you could do manually using their IntelliSearch tool to find candidates. I find that DICE is overall much more effective when you have a job to post and the candidates apply rather than doing a blind search. There are too many factors that make candidates returned by DICE Open Web not necessarily interested in your position. When candidates apply they have shown interest and then you can apply the Screener tool to help narrow the pool.

We have been using Hiretual for a wide variety of roles, including filling our own internal Talent Acquisition roles. This product is comparable and as or more effective than Entelo and other advanced sourcing tools. We have found using Hiretual to be a boon to our rural recruiting efforts which can be incredibly complex and difficult to handle. Hiretual allows us to scale our sourcing efforts from small to large needs effortlessly and has been invaluable for us since we started utilizing it. Ultimately, when optimized, TA teams can earn a great deal of efficiency utilizing this tool to its fullest capacity.

- Talent sourcing aggregate (known by Hiretual as AI Sourcing).
- Custom insights based on search criteria.
- Contact information & social link retrieval.
- Applicant Tracking System Integration -- At OnPoint we use Lever as our ATS. Hiretual allows us to export candidate data directly into our ATS and associate said candidates to a specific requisition, & in a specific stage.

Cons
Dice Open Web
- Dice Open Web seemed to not be able to keep up with other platforms and some features and functionality were either missing or quickly became obsolete.
- It doesn't really seem to remain competitive on the landscape and feel behind in product release and feature updates.
- Some information was outdated and didn't get regularly refreshed or updated it seemed. Just kind of churning the same information as before or the lack of reach was evident over time.

- I have come across many duplicate profiles that could cause me to contact the same person twice in a short period.
- Doesn’t have an “undo” button for if I accidentally mark a candidate as “not a good fit”
- Their “variables” used in creating email templates don’t function optimally. If you use “candidate last name”, and the person has a title, it will use the title instead of name. For example… I sent an email to a doctor and it sent as “Dr. MD”. Not ideal.

I'm assuming we will keep using DICE, but Indeed and LinkedIn are starting to prove their value and strength in having candidates/consultants use their services to look for new opportunities.

The few times that I haven't been able to quickly figure out how to do something, I have emailed my support person and have gotten a response within a couple of hours. The system is very intuitive and if you have ever run online searches using Boolean techniques, Hiretual is very easy to understand (but you don't need to know Boolean to be successful with the tool).

Dice provides ease of sourcing candidates and is the most useful in staffing industry. However, we still recommend the team to provide older version access to the user which was much easier and flexible to use. Dice posting is the best feature in Dice. The Boolean Search feature in Dice is also very useful.

Everyone from the customer reps to the c-suite always makes themselves available to answer questions or help us troubleshoot and issues that may arise. We haven't found many issues the tool but when we have questions about the utilization of the tool or how to utilize its advanced capabilities, the reps at Hiretual always make themselves available to us.

I received multiple candidates only after hours of posting my jobs on other sites. And for a fraction of the cost! I not only received quality candidates but also candidates who actually matched my requirements. These sites also have the option for proactive outreach and pay-by-click options as well. Some also provide free trials, which Dice does not.

I prefer SeekOut over hireEZ. Although hireEZ has a nice UI/UX available to the user I feel sometimes their data is not current and that they rely heavily on keyword searches and are not great for people who are really good with the Boolean type of searches. I recommend you try all options available to you and see what works best for you. All of these companies provide a 2-week trial.

- It’s a great portal to use and has many useful features which helps us to search relevant profiles as per client's need.
- Dice really helped us to improve our business as we have closed many candidates through Dice.
- I feel Dice should improve their new search, as it's not highlighting most of the keywords.

- I stopped using it because the information was not more accurate than linked in or other free services.
- It was too costly as an add on for a single user.
- As a single recruiter, it did not return enough unique results - results that were found on LinkedIn.
