Likelihood to Recommend We changed payroll companies from
Paycom to Heartland this year at the recommendation of our insurance agent who insisted they would integrate with the EASE system, which tracks employee benefits and deductions. However, 8 weeks into it, I regret my decision, since the setup hasn't been completed yet. The lack of responsiveness in some cases is astounding and often we have to ask 3, 4, and 5 times for something to be done. I hate to think what will happen after we are "handed off" from the payroll implementation team to the regular schmucks. We still are not able to track PTO and time off and we have been begging for the self-service feature to be turned on for employees so they can change addresses, bank account info, etc. Their training is NONEXISTENT and their manual is abysmal. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I wish I could go back to
Paycom !
Read full review Isolved is great with payroll and payroll changes as well as onboarding. Our benefit open enrollment went well and for the most part was stress free, there were a few hiccups with our 3rd party supplemental insurances. Because of their complexity and they way they are processed through payroll there was a little confusion and things needed to be adjusted. But due to the flexibility of the system the issues didn't become big problems.
Read full review Pros White-glove customer support. All employees are in the United States and they must pay them well, because they don't seem to have turnover there. Technology is awesome. We have Payroll, HR, T&A, ATS, and onboarding with them. Their Tax Credit tech is amazing. I received more money in tax credits last year than payroll cost me. That's a net positive! Compliance with their HR team is great, and they don't hit you over the head on the price for it. Pricing is fantastic with a 3-year price lock. No BS discounting that jumps back up a year later. Employee Information (accurate reporting of the data, easily viewable information, information presented in a streamlined fashion). Read full review Cons Sometimes the system (geocode) will not allow me to process address changes by asking for help from our specialist. Response for assistance is usually a lot slower when our dedicated specialist is not available. Read full review More reminder notifications would be great! A way to email hiring managers and our IT department at the same time with a template would save us from so much email communication Transfer all attached documents such as interview notes from iHired applicants to isolved employee documents would save us time uploading into multiple places Read full review Likelihood to Renew Due to the continued problems (time clock disconnects, regular post-update issues) and users' negative attitude, we are unlikely to renew. Another important factor is that TF is US-centric, so it does not account for local Philippine specifics, which is important to us.
Read full review Usability It is very intuitive and user friendly. iSolved is always updating and improving things before they even become a problem. I like how they inform us of the new updates and provide us with the details of what is changing and how it will improve the usuage.
Read full review Reliability and Availability Payroll due dates and send to us at the beginning of the year, with email reminders for holidays. The support email address is fairly fast, within 24-48 hours. But if something is needed immediately, I can just call and they help me out right then.
Read full review Performance We do not use the integration, so we have a csv file that I upload manually for payroll. That is our decision based on the software at our restaurants. Pages loaded fairly quickly, but reports to pdf lag about 15-20 seconds
Read full review Support Rating I never have trouble reaching customer support. They always are able to assist with fixing any problems that arise. There honestly haven't been many issues at all. Only ones I've created :)
Read full review I gave this rating because for the most part I am always responded to quickly. More recently there have been a couple of times where it has taken a couple of days for me to get a reply. I also said I would receive a call back same day and that did not happen. It eventually was handled. after a couple of days
Read full review In-Person Training All over the phone, but it was comprehensive.
Read full review Online Training We loved taking the course, we went through most of them before we went live and I believe that was very helpful. The online training helped us learn to navigate in the program. We still refer to the training and assign our managers and supervisors to it as well. I highly recommend using it. We have also been able to attend the Connect Conferences with are extremely valuable and we learn tips and tricks to help us better utilize our system.
Read full review Implementation Rating The Heartland team could care less about how difficult your experience is. In fact, I think they delight in seeing you struggle!
Read full review The system was very cumbersome setting up as well as time consuming. There were times I just wanted to walk away and sometimes I did have to get up and walk away for a break and come back with a fresh perspective. The setup took me over a period of two to three months getting it to serve the purposes that we needed it two. I am very intuitive when it comes to computer software however getting all the right buttons checked in order for it to do what I needed didn't always work.
Read full review Alternatives Considered I've considered moving payroll over to
QuickBooks Online so that everything is in one place, but it would probably take too much work considering that our current system works really well. I think QuickBooks would confuse me, honestly. There are other systems that offer different user interfaces that are neat looking, but I haven't done too much research because Heartland Payroll offered me a really good deal for processing since we are a small company.
Read full review I went with iSolved because the people I spoke with were all quick to answer and very thorough in their responses. I knew they could help me build my setup the way I wanted it, and not just force me to work within some pre-set parameters once I had signed the contract.
Read full review Contract Terms and Pricing Model Price increases do happen every year. I understand that the cost of living rises, but every year to us is a bit excessive.
Read full review Scalability We are a company of about 135 people at 9 locations in 2 towns. We were able to set locations and departments, and also have each location seperate so only that manager can see their employees.
Read full review Return on Investment We have a net positive using Heartland. We actually bring more money in from their tax credits than the payroll service actually costs. I used to have a part-time person handing our payroll/HR needs. Now this is done by me because it's so easy. Read full review When we had Paycom, we had 1/4 of our staff that were not logging in and using the system. That number is down to maybe 5% now Employees love having the ability to easily view and verify their timecards prior to payroll submission. Read full review ScreenShots
