LogicMonitor
[LogicMonitor] is not a SIEM tool or log aggregator per say, although it can act like it in some ways, more of a very advanced monitoring tool with lots of extra features you don't usually see.It works great for what its meant to do, and also provides a good amount of extra features (dashboards, regex log matching, log file alerting, anomaly detention and future predicting) that make the product worth it. I love that they are always working to improve it and keep their customers happy.

SiteScope is definitely well suited in an HP server environment. It is also well suited for virtual server environments. It is also well suited for those who are happy with email and text based message alerting. It may not be appropriate in other environments where monitoring physical components is critical. Because HP SiteScope does not monitor certain physical components, it does fall short of being able to be a "one stop shop solution" in regard to monitoring. It is not well suited for those looking for logic in how alerts are sent and cascade to other people or groups.

- Alerts can be configured as per business requirement.
- It can take remedial action, when defined for a particular situation.
- Severity, priority of tickets which are created upon a trigger can be well defined.
- The teams which need to be alerted can be configured in the tool itself, in case of any event.

Cons
LogicMonitor
- The UI is not always consistent, particularly the enforcement of the 'better' alerts pane.
- Spend even more time on your 'troubleshooter' data sources to identify monitoring collection issues; granted this has come a long way in the last year.
- SSO integration using AD groups is not easy, requires custom integration work.

- Sitescope is particularly used for infrastructure monitoring. Other kinds of monitors cannot be set using HP sitescope.
- Sitescope cannot have graphs like splunk which is why we have splunk as well which is an additional cost for the company.
- We can't have a direct regex operations on data inside HP sitescope. We need to have the logs placed as a single log and then do that.

This product has met virtually all of our needs. It was easy to implement and has been simple to support. Customization has been intuitive with many options available. They keep adding features and expanding available options. The future of LogicMonitor looks even better than it is today which is very promising. The management and support teams at LogicMonitor are always helpful

It's very good. One area for improvement is the ability to group large quantities of objects together more quickly or disable alerts for specific instances completely very quickly.Alert Tuning is one of the more complex, but entirely necessary parts of the product to use keeping me from rating usability a 10.

The built-in chat feature for LogicMon is, hands down, one of the best support channels I've worked with. I can stay in my app while getting the support I need, and they've always been able to help me solve whatever issue I'm coming across. Definitely a big win here.

Can't really answer this. Setup was easy and no support has really been used at this point.

The Implementation team kept us on track even when we didn't have time. They made up for our lack of focus at times and boiled everything down to simple tasks which enabled a quick deployment and an easy transition to regularly using the tool. They also kept us in a post-implementation for a while after which ensured we have multiple support options after go-live

LogicMonitor
The other platforms used before migrating to LogicMonitor all have limitations or performance related issues. ConnectWise Automate is a very buggy, unstable platform that is very manual to maintain. The system requires an "Agent" installed on every machine in order for Automate to monitor it. If someone clones a machine with the agent installed, it creates a huge mess within the database and platform which causes various monitoring issues. Moving away from this allows us to not have to rely on these agents, rely on having 6 servers dedicated to the monitoring platform, and having monitoring outages 2-3 times a year that takes 3-5 days to fix and restore.LogicMonitor is cloud based, the systems with collectors installed have better performance compared to systems with "agents" installed. LM collects more data and provides more metrics to monitor devices on allowing us to go from a NOC who reacts to a NOC who is proactive.

SiteScope can be easily deployed. It required less care feeding as it is quite stable. Compared to other products which are agent-based, HP SiteScope can monitor remotely without any issues. We selected HP Sitescope as it was easier to manage compared to the other tools which require more human resources to manage.

LogicMonitor
- Although our migration isn't yet complete, we've already seen significant value in operational simplicity and improved visibility.
- In some cases, we wish there were more tools to help us migrate, particularly in cases where we were previously dependent on SNMP trap monitoring and moving to something better (e.g. API, SNMP polling).
- A couple of potential outages have been averted with issues found proactive with LogicMonitor that our previous tools were missing.

- Sitescope does exactly what it was purchased for. It may take some time to set it up but once its set up it is a rock solid product.
