Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As an HR Manager at Helpfood, we use BambooHR to address most of our HR issues, from onboarding new employees and managing their records to leave management and our day-to-day HR operations. BambooHR has helped streamline and make processes more efficient by addressing manual HR processes, reducing them, and enhancing employee data visibility. Our use case covers onboarding processes, employee database management, performance management, and leave tracking, and is usually used by our HR dept and, at times, supports the executive in decision-making.

Pros

  • Employee onboarding and workflow automation have been streamlined significantly since we started using BambooHR. It helps in paperwork automation, checklist approvals, and task assignment.
  • I can never say enough about centralized employee data management. This one, BambooHR, does it so seamlessly that there is no need to juggle several HR management solutions to visualize data.
  • We had an issue with performance management: we could not track how employees were performing, recognize the best performers, or identify ways to improve low performers. But BambooHR has helped with. We can now conduct reviews, track performance, and monitor KPIs.

Cons

  • The Applicant tracking system gets overwhelmed by large volumes of applications, therefore failing to conduct more in-depth screening and to match us with the perfect candidates.
  • At Helpyfood, we sometimes need very specific reports, such as a detailed workforce breakdown, and BambooHR cannot create them. Work on more in-depth reports and advanced analytics.
  • I feel BambooHR is a friendly platform, but when it comes to customizations and configurations, it gets a bit rigid. For example, tailoring approval flows for different departments.

  • A major ROI has always been saving time, and we started using BambooHR because most of our HR operations were manual, and time wastage was a big issue. But now, with BambooHR, we have reduced the administrative workload by 30% to 40%, freeing more time for our personnel to be more productive.
  • Another ROI has been the slow onboarding process we experienced due to many manual steps. But with BambooHR, the process has been cut by half from 4 days to 2 days.
  • Decision-making in the HR department was a bit flawed because we lacked reliable data to act on. From performance management data, KPIs, and leave management. But with BambooHR, our decision-making has become much better and more accurate. This has reduced scheduling conflicts and improved workforce planning.

I use BambooHR to request time off, keep employee records, and streamline employee performance. This software helps in onboarding and offboarding of members, hiring process,payroll, and reporting. This platform integrates well with the other software we use, enhancing automation, eliminating payroll and reporting errors, and saving us time.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use BambooHR for all HR and Payroll facets now. We use the ATS system, the HR Management and just recently added Payroll, Time Tracking and Benefits. We love the ease of use and the way the system flows into each module. Payroll has made a huge difference in our process, and we enjoy it.

Pros

  • The Applicant Tracking System is pretty good. Has a couple flaws but over all it's a really great module.
  • The HR management system works really well and we love how much we can customize things we need.
  • The Reporting feature is one of my favorite things about BambooHR. I can create any report I want and I love that.

Cons

  • I would love to see a DARK mode in BambooHR. The white is super hard on my eyes, and as the admin, I spend a lot of time in BambooHR.
  • The Rehire protocol in BambooHR's ATS system is non existent and needs addressed.
  • Need to have the ability to have more details on the Benefits module. Not being able to download or email an election sheet to our agent is frustrating.
  • On approvals of Time off requests, it would be nice if the approval inbox notification would show what the employees current balances are for PTO, Vacation, Sick Time, etc. so we know if their request is valid. Right now we have to open another window to review their time off tab to see if it's okay to approve their requests.

Return on Investment

  • This has impacted our cost savings overall in respect to better management of our Time Off policies and not overpaying on benefits.
  • This is a time saver for administration and managers and helps them be more productive in areas that are of more urgent need.
  • It provides a huge resource for our company in reports that we didn't have before.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my case, I used Bamboo as a human resources management tool. Vacation requests, days off, recording work hours, document requests, etc. It's incredibly useful and user-friendly, with always timely responses and very comprehensive information.Although I didn't use it regularly or constantly, whenever I needed to manage any kind of request, it was always available with up-to-date information, so you can fully trust what it says.

2 Years In to BambooHR®

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I manage a team of about 20 via the BambooHR® system. I review and approve time cards biweekly including approving time off requests. I help team members use the Goals area for setting personal improvement goals as well as team goals. I also am in charge of hiring for our branch office, so I am familiar with the Hiring/Jobs section of the software.

Pros

  • Digital Time Card Tracker
  • Automated Emails for Hiring
  • Automatic PTO Balance tracker based on submissions.

Cons

  • Sometimes employees who have overtime and PTO in the same pay period...I find it confusing to make sure they have everything submitted correctly. Wish there was an easier way to do this.
  • I've noticed some bugs with the Hiring Emails not coming to my actual inbox. It seems hit and miss...and the status of "opened" or "delivered" etc...isn't syncing with the ACTUAL last email that I've sent to a potential hire or they've sent to me.

Return on Investment

  • It has definitely improved onboarding! We were doing so many manual forms. It felt like it took a whole week to onboard someone. Now they 're doing most all of the requirements before they even have their first day at work
  • I would say yes, overall HR efficiency has been stepped up a notch. We do have a couple of new employees in HR, but it has taken a time-suck...load-off of me as the office manager.
