Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

ClickUp is our umbrella Project Management software. It replaces several team-specific PM platforms that we have used over the years and now integrates everyone from Executive to Account Management to Dev to IT to Design, etc. It alleviates the previously fractured approach we had to project management and integrates the time tracking and project codes that we use with Workamajig.
  • Task assignment, tracking and watching
  • Dev and QA revision history, API functions, Git integration (commits, pull requests, etc.)
  • Time tracking and billing integration across all staff
  • Interface can be overwhelming and hard to organize especially for new users
  • General learning curve of onboarding especially compared to some legacy apps like Jira
  • Occasionally buggy, especially when using in a browser vs. native app (broken links failure to load from status update emails in browser), frequent logouts in browser for no apparent reason, etc.)
  • Users no longer have different platforms to enter time, update tickets, etc.
  • Greater visibility for project updates/requests with reduced email chains
  • Tons of different view types which you can tailor to specific your use case
Since our entire organization is on ClickUp, it's easy to pull in people from different departments and give them visibility to projects that they may not necessarily have worked on before but whose insight might be helpful. For example, previously, IT/SysAdmin would not necessarily be involved with Dev deliverables, but having those technical skills overlap means that sometimes bringing someone else in to brainstorm or give a different perspective is helpful. ClickUp helps avoid those types of things turning into time suck meetings and makes it a more natural development.
Essentially we moved from having Project Managers and AE's working in Jira and Workamajig and IT working in Confluence and Freshservice and Dev/QA working in LeanKit (among others, these are just examples) and put everyone under one roof, so to speak. We have canceled several accounts and streamlined project billing and workflows. Everything is integrated into email and department-specific Slack channels via integrations.
A very modern interface and support for just about every integration available. Excellent pricing and scalability. Brings detailed time tracking and billing into the PM sphere, which our previous PM software was not able to do. We continue to use a less than ideal platform Workamajib for time billing, and ClickUp is the only app that we could use to integrate into that.

Do you think ClickUp delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with ClickUp's feature set?

Yes

Did ClickUp live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of ClickUp go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ClickUp again?

Yes

We are a small organization (under 200), and we wanted to try ClickUp while keeping some of our legacy platforms intact. ClickUp has a graduated pricing model, which allowed us to trial and scale up as we went, adding users and changing levels and support tiers until we determined that this would be our project management platform going forward. Other alternatives required full buy-in and contractual commitments at a higher per-use price point. Because of this, we decided to deploy this across all employees instead of segregating Dev/QA from Design/Social, for example. Now all employees can have visibility or collaboration should the need arise.
