Why We Chose ClickUp for Our Non-Profit Organization!
Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
I use ClickUp to manage tasks, projects, marketing content, events, and volunteerism. We are able to use ClickUp as a crm, as well as a platform for our interns & volunteers to manage the tasks assigned to them, as well as complete onboarding when first starting. It helps us manage our day-to-day tasks, as well as the tasks needed to manage bigger projects, such as annual events, fundraisers, etc. It also helps us communicate with one another on specific things, so there is less miscommunication and more efficiency when problem-solving.
Pros
- Provide complex features where tasks can be linked to tasks in other lists, docs, etc.
- Provides multiple functionalities, such as creating "goals", docs, uploading files, and having comment options for each task, etc.
- Allows for customizable options like adding custom fields.
- Allows for custom settings for sharing specific lists, docs, etc. with certain users.
Cons
- It would be more helpful to be able to adjust the sharing settings for each user, such as allowing them to edit a task without being able to delete it, etc.
- Create "events" in the calendar view that are not "tasks".
- Create invoices and allow for payments to be made through the platform.
- The UX is still a bit overwhelming for new users.... it would be interesting to see if this could be improved.
- The lagging at times is very frustrating.
- Having folders where you can upload files instead of there needing to be a "task"
- More customizable features for docs (custom colors, etc.) - I would love to replace Google Docs but still need it due to its lack of many Word/Doc features
- When adding a user, you should be able to select "guest" right away instead of having to click "member" and then changing them to "guest" right away
- Negative: Some staff still don't feel confident using the platform because of how "overwhelming" it seems
- Positive: Staff using it are saving so much more time getting tasks done and remembering to do things before things are due!
- Positive: We are able to track metrics, such as number of participants and how much money is left from a grant because of the "excel" functionality while also being able to know the status of each item due to its "task" functionality
- Because of the mutliple functionalities in one platform, we have been able to save hundreds of dollars that would've been spent on a CRM AND a Project Management Tool!
It's been so much easier to include the appropriate people on certain tasks that involve them in some way. It's also extremely helpful to see what tasks you are assigned on your own view and have filter functionalities so that a lot information can be stored in one place but one person can view parts of the information that's directly related to their role. We are also all able to have access to things more quickly & clearly, thus saving us time trying to find things!
As mentioned before, we are able to replace CRM, event, and content management platforms since we can design them & make them work the way we need them to using ClickUp! Also, due to there being so many different ways of doing things in ClickUp, we're able to adjust processes easily!
I love that there are more advanced features like checklists, subtasks, recurring due dates, custom fields, time-tracking, docs, task-linking, goals, dashboards, users & teams, email integration, integration customizations, automation, various view options, filtering & sorting, and so much more! Also, the price compared to the others with these features in mind was a huge factor in determining a "pro" plan with one of these tools.
