Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We often use GoTo Meeting with vendors and support services to connect and attend meetings. GoTo Meeting allows for quick and secures conferencing that helps us communicate and get projects done. We have relied on GoTo Meeting in the past to connect with our vendors and support services to work through server and switch issues. The platform has been a great help in resolving issues remotely.

LogMeIn has given us some issues in the past, especially when needing to block some of the services they provide
End users get confused by the amount of different GoTo Meeting apps on the app store, all made by GoTo Meeting
Call quality could be better in GoTo Meeting. Sound issues are sometimes a problem.

Alternatives Considered

Zoom, Google Meet and TeamViewer

GoTo Meeting is more secure than the listed similar products and allows for more engagement and collaboration. We currently pay for Zoom and have Google Meet through a bundled package through Google. Zoom was more utilized for situations where audio and video quality are the priority, so meetings that would be streamed to the public, etc. GoTo Meeting is preferred when collaboration and work on projects need to be performed. Google Meet was only used as a backup if the other two were not working.

GoTo Meeting is great for working remotely or in a team that is remote. We have utilized it to allow support vendors into systems and work through issues together. GoTo Meeting as a straight video conference software works well, but if sound/video quality is a concern, it may fall short. Software such as Zoom may be a better option, especially for meetings where video and audio quality are a top concern. If you're just needing a good piece of software to work remotely with multiple people, GoTo Meeting gets the job done.
