Overall Satisfaction with Heap

Fast access to events data on the platform.
  • Easy definition of events.
  • Easy filtering and grouping.
  • Fast custom analysis.
  • Decluttering.
  • Shorter learning curve.
  • More intuitive UI.
  • More granular tracking for more objective decision making.
  • Testing to decide whether we continue or retire elements.
  • Understanding what matters more to the users, and what not.
There's a bit of a steep learning curve required, and at times it requires a wider team to look at an event or a funnel to validate if the tracking is inline with the business objectives corresponding to a particular metric. It does require a few training sessions with fuller attention to all minute details, and finally, needs the user to get started and make a few mistakes to learn along.
I haven't faced issues with performance or average page load time. I'm quite used to querying from large databases, so if it takes longer than usual for a chart or funnel to load on Heap, I can understand and am willing to give it a few more seconds without that hindering my progress for job at hand.
The other products I've used for achieving similar objectives are more querying based. I'd say that Heap has its own advantages, as it has a lot of rich data, yet it's directional but not fully conclusive at times; while the querying based products excel with higher data integrity depending on the source they are looking into, and can really be the on- stop-shop (subject to the availability of data).

Do you think Heap delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Yes

Did Heap live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Heap go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Heap again?

Yes

In situations with a lot of data being generated from the mobile app or the website, Heap can capture that for use cases such as analysis and reporting.
