Overall Satisfaction with PandaDoc

We needed to decrease the amount of time it takes to create proposals, turn them into contracts, and get deals signed. Pandadoc allows me to create a library of a) content, and b) branded design elements that perfectly match our corporate brand style guide, even including custom fonts. We are able to quickly put together proposals for complex SaaS solutions that are tailored for specific prospects, but pulling from our libraries and end up perfectly branded. In our case, we append plain English agreements to the proposals, matching the brand, allowing us to seamlessly move from proposal to contract. Managing signers and getting digital signatures is easy with Pandadoc. The amount of time it takes us to send a new agreement is down from hours to minutes; we are sending and closing deals so much faster with Pandadoc.
  • Create library of branded elements and templates to use in documents.
  • Manage signers and signatures.
  • Match corporate style guides, including custom fonts and colors.
  • Interweave variables in templates and documents to speed up sending new docs.
  • Layouts for multi-column design are based on tables and feel a little constrained.
  • Pricing better suited for small, boutique teams would be nice. It's just a little pricey. Worth it though.
  • The time to create a proposal/contract has gone from over an hour to 20 minutes or less. It's only five minutes for a standard SaaS proposal with few modifications. This for a well designed, 10 page document that encompasses a proposal and contract in the same document.
  • Even when starting from scratch, we have found the built-in templates to be a helpful starting point that saved us time about half the time.
  • Where rigid adherence to our brand guidelines is required for any document we always create it in Pandadoc. Word processors are not adequate for that.
We created a theme plus a library of content including verbiage an and design elements for proposals, and verbiage for contractual agreements. These, combined with easy click-and-drag signature boxes makes it super fast to draft new proposals, agreement, or templates.
Collaboration features have been buggy at times, but generally the life cycle of getting feedback from prospects and implementing those has been painless. Clients tend to give us feedback via email instead of adding comments inside Pandadoc, but we see that as a market behavior phenomenon, not a reflection on Pandadoc.

Overall, getting signatures has been very quick, on par with Docusign and other solutions we have used in past.

Pandadoc has helped us reduce our time to close a deal more than any other single technology factor.
Coming from a background in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign the design tools feel restrictive. However, the look and feel is on par or better than five competing document creation suites that we tested online. The font and color theming is very good, and custom fonts can be used for a small setup cost, which is a big differentiator compared to most other document creation suites.
  • We also use Pandadoc to template subcontractor agreement and Scopes Of Work that we routinely send out for projects.
We also evaluated a product called "Better Proposals" that's not in the TrustRadius list.

Pandadoc won our business by virtue of having generally more flexible design and layout abilities. There are a lot of new contenders in the space of proposal/contract creation and management, but Pandadoc feels a) more mature and robust, and b) like much more than just proposal management software. We also use it for contracts with contractors, addendums, branded legal documents, and an increasing number of additional documents as we become more accustomed to it. It's definitely more than just a sales and marketing tool, it's also amazing for a host of HR applications.

Pandadoc is really excellent for creating branded, reusable templates. The investment of designing and configuring documents is well worth it in this case.

It's not as great for simple word processing. Use Google Docs or Microsoft Word for that.

We also found it too constraining for very detailed, complex design brochures. Use graphics design software for that.

When you need a well branded, moderately design, but highly templated document to reuse, Pandadoc is a gem.
