Overall Satisfaction with Polycom RealPresence Group Series
The Polycom system was deployed in the board meeting room. Board members have lifesize and cisco conference systems in their offices, and Polycom was chosen as a low-cost endpoint to participate in those meetings.
- It's fairly straightforward to deploy.
- Good integration with Polycom® SoundStation® IP 7000 phone to achieve high-quality audio coverage in the room without installing a more complex ceiling microphone's solution.
- Integration with other solutions, such as Skype or Teams, requires additional licenses.
- We ended up using it only for meetings between conference rooms, not with individual users.
- It's a professional-grade conference room solution, which reduced board member travel costs.
- Skype for Business (formerly Lync) and Lifesize Video Conferencing
Conference room systems do not seem to be commonly integrated with Skype for Business, so limited usability. Lifesize looked attractive, but the lower cost and local support of Polycom put it ahead.
