Overall Satisfaction with SAP SuccessFactors

SAP SuccessFactors is our company’s key global HR information system for servicing data collection used throughout the entire employee life-cycle while within the business. We needed a true global solution that elegantly spanned across all major employment milestones for ease of administration on the HR side, and ease-of-use on the employee side. The UI and branding may feel this is a full, all-in-one suite, but once deeper behind the scenes (reporting, integration, permissioning, configuration) the complex patchwork of modules becomes a major hindrance to true mastery and control.

Pretty sure SAP SuccessFactors does not connect easily with SAP Concur or Qualtrics to share employee data, which is ridiculous.
Implementation requires many decisions and settings to be built up, but this is facilitated via an Excel-based “configuration workbook,” which is clunky and vague. Implementing piece by piece can make it difficult to stitch together with other modules, and require rework.

Consider if your people are flexible enough or if you have enough leverage to persuade how processes operate at your business. It may be a challenge to adapt the system accordingly for tiny detailed steps or tasks that are previously in place. Rely on the R&D money spent by SAP and follow the system default where possible. Similarly, try to stick with default field labels and layout so reporting and integrations are easiest to build and manage. There are many options for rules and data controls to keep data entry of high quality.
