Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
I strongly dislike TeamViewer. It does work well (when it isn't down, which is a weekly occurrence) but the fact remains that our company pays for a license with this software and I (and my colleagues) are consistently plagued with issues while trying to use it to do our jobs. I severely miss LogMeIn (the software my company switched to TeamViewer from) as we used it for 4 years without a single issue. It is unacceptable to me how frequently we are all left unable to service our clients because the software is down.
Pros
- GUI
- End-user experience
- Availability across end points
Cons
- WHY IS IT DOWN ALL THE TIME?
- TeamViewer experiences outages that affect licensed users at least once a week
- WHY IS IT ALWAYS DOWN???
- Works well when it works
- Experiences outages too frequently
- Negatively impacts business because engineers cannot do their jobs when it is out
I miss LogMeIn, we never had one issue with it in over 4 years of use. Our company switched to TeamViewer in the beginning of the pandemic, likely to save money. It is clear to me that TeamViewer is cheaper because the quality from LogMeIn to TV is a big difference. It doesn't hold up in the way that LogMeIn does. The file transfer feature constantly causes the session to freeze, even when transferring a file smaller than 60kB. You have to exit the session and re-enter the session to get it to pick back up. Every feature LogMeIn has is better than TV's.
Do you think TeamViewer delivers good value for the price?
Not sure
Are you happy with TeamViewer's feature set?
Yes
Did TeamViewer live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of TeamViewer go as expected?
I wasn't involved with the implementation phase
Would you buy TeamViewer again?
No
I was not involved in the implementation process in my organization. If it were up to me, we would have never downgraded from LogMeIn.
I am not sure how the org has used these features, I myself utilize single sign on to minimize the amount of times I need to sign in
