Use Cases and Deployment Scope

TriNet is our HR platform used for Employee Hiring, administration of benefits, payroll and expenses. Every employee has their own login, but I'm the only administrator.

Pros and Cons

The platform is easy to use.
Benefits are competitive for an SMB.
Customer support is very responsive and helpful.

It's clumsy having to switch from the main platform UI to the Expenses module.
In the main dashboard, the Benefits selection should provide links to the actual benefits for quick review and sharing with employees/prospects.
Notices should go away once employee/admin has acknowledged them. Or there should be a way to dismiss them.

We have a designated rep that's always knowledgeable and quick to respond. During the time I've used TriNet as an HR platform, we've had multiple customer satisfaction reps but we've never missed a beat. The staff is always timely and armed with the correct resources to address a questions and/or problem.

Usability

There's a learning curve. The UI is not as intuitive as it could be. There have been multiple scenarios where I've had to call support. For instance, submitting expenses to payroll doesn't completed the process. You then have to go into the payroll module and "load expenses". Seems like an unnecessary step when you've already submitted.

Return on Investment

Alleviates the need for us to hire a full-time employee dedicated to HR.
Simplifies expense reports and reimbursement
Onboarding of new employees is easy once you've done it a couple times.

Alternatives Considered

Insperity PerformSmart and Zenefits

We didn't look anywhere else, as we used TriNet at a previous company. Since forming our new company, we have been approached by Insperity and Zenefits. However, until we have reason to believe TriNet is not competitive or become unhappy with the level of service, we will not entertain any other meetings.

Likelihood to Recommend

TriNet is a great HR platform for any SMB seeking competitive benefits. We do not have the budget to staff a full time employee dedicated to HR. TriNet simplifies the process of onboarding new employees, explaining and delivering benefits. Easy admin and employee access to pertinent information. I believe even larger organizations could benefit from TriNet.
