Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

UltiPro is our system of record for Benefits, Payroll and General Employee information. We primarily use it within the Human Resources department, but we are able to leverage data throughout the organization through API feeds and reports.
  • Ease of use for managers and associates.
  • Mobile compatible for our remote workforce that doesn't always have access to a computer.
  • Streamlined reporting and analytics.
  • While most areas are mobile compatible, others are not.
  • During the 4th quarter, support is always bogged down, resulting in longer than normal and sometimes unacceptable delays.
  • Time savings
  • Consolidating HR administration under a single solution
  • Security and peace of mind
By eliminating manual processes and letting UltiPro talk to other systems, we reduce the amount of time spent manually entering employee information and ensure that it's accurate. When someone leaves the organization, we are able to leverage the same API connections to terminate and remove access, so it is done timely and without fail.
UltiPro allows us to pick and choose the modules that we use and is much more cost efficient than Workday. ADP Workforce Now seems to be strong with the payroll side, but the system doesn't continue to evolve as UltiPro does.
Well suited for businesses of any size!

Upgrading UltiPro

Yes - Upgrades with UltiPro are very simple. Being in a SaaS environment, the upgrades are handled during the middle of the night by their team. For users with a test environment, systems are upgraded prior to Production so you have an opportunity to test processes and new functionality prior to it becoming production-impacting. This allows me the chance to update any training material before my users see it in production. Release highlights detail the new functionality and whether it is on by default or needs to be enabled, and virtual sessions are available that do a very good job of highlighting the changes.
  • New Total Compensation tool makes it easy for my employees to understand their total compensation, not just take home pay
  • Model My Pay came in very handy during the first of the year for people to see impact to their take home pay if they adjusted exemptions or deferred comp elections
  • Community Broadcast makes it easy to notify employees of office closures due to weather
  • Enhancements and stability to the WFM product
  • Better report integration between Benefits Prime and Business Intelligence

UltiPro Training

Configuring UltiPro

UltiPro has come a long way recently in configurability, but they still have a ways to go before I find it useful in my daily business tasks.

For example, you can schedule reports to run through the web portal now, but if you want to transmit them, you have to engage (and pay) their UDES team to set it up for you. You can also add custom fields through the web portal, but if you want to report on them, you have to rewrite your reports and use special templates to pull the user defined data in.

UltiPro Support

Very good except in the 4th quarter.

UltiPro Reliability

I have used UltiPro in an organization with less than 1,000 employees and also an organization with over 11,000 employees. In both instances, the system delivered a large query search result in a very timely manner. During times of peak usage, such as Open Enrollment, I never had any issues with downtime or system lags.
With very few exceptions, the system has always been up and available. UltiPro boasts something like a 99% up-time rating with a goal of 98%. There have been times when a piece of the software has gone down, such as timekeeping, but other parts of the system, like payroll processing, remain up. Notifications are always sent regarding any potential delay or issue, and a Root Cause Analysis is typically provided after the fact on measures that have been taken to prevent the issue from occurring again.
I have never experienced a delay in loading pages, even with an employee group of 11,000.

Integrating UltiPro

Relationship with Ultimate Software

I feel like I have a good support team in place with Ultimate. My Executive Relationship Manager and I have regular conversations from an overall account view, and I interact with Support as needed. If I have an urgent request that is impacting my business processes, I have a great team that I can escalate to and know that it's being handled.
