Overall Satisfaction with UserTesting

UserTesting is used to conducted remote user testing across our org for primarily qualitative (interviews, usability studies, etc.) but also quantitative methods (surveys, preference tests, etc.).
  • Large and diverse panel for recruiting consumers. Especially tech savvy users.
  • Rescheduling/Adding sessions to an ongoing study is extremely easy.
  • Duplicating past studies is extremely convenient and allows for consistent replication of Research Methods.
  • Their screeners really need to introduce logic (if THIS then THAT).
  • They don't have accessibility focused panels for People with Disabilities.
  • Their auto transcription feature isn't very accurate and hence not super useful.
  • Faster conversion rates with no. of research studies we could execute.
  • Flexibility in panel of users recruited.
  • Excellent customer service guaranteed rescheduling sessions was quick and easy.
Amazing. One of the best out there. They are very quick to respond to any queries/concerns you may have and address them as soon as possible. They are very good about refunding sessions if there's a technical glitch or participants don't show up on time. Also very happy to reschedule sessions for you ad hoc.
While it is easy to get the hang of user testing, the overall experience does feel a bit clunky. Some very basic elements - such as the screener can take forever to set up and use. This is irrespective of how strong your computing power is, seems to be a website issue.
The platform has definitely allowed teams to research and iterate on products and features at a much faster rate. The flexibility with being able to recruit diverse demographics allows us to run sessions in parallel that address the need of a variety of target audiences during the same week and provide insights faster.
Qualtrics is much better when it comes to running quantitative studies, such as surveys or preference tests as you can introduce complex logic into the survey questions themselves. The platform is also very good about making it super easy to embed videos or images that can be presented to users for reference while asking questions.
For quick turnaround times UserTesting offers one of the best platforms on the market. Especially to recruit, conduct and analyze data from interviews.

It is not as effective when one is trying to recruit complex demographics as their screeners do not allow for logic. Their unmoderated testing tool for deploying and testing mobile apps can also be a hit or miss depending on robustness of your prototype.
