Overall Satisfaction with UserTesting

I use UserTesting in my organization to determine customer feedback on checkout services. One of the main business problems that are addressed is customers' thoughts and feelings behind certain aspects of the checkout service. Do they like how it looks? what does it mean to them? is it easy to use? etc.

  • Good for qualitative research
  • The 'think out loud' test results are useful for providing information on how the customer is feeling which helps us to understand the customer's journey
  • Enables empathy of the customers
  • Easier way to use templates
  • Transcripts can sometimes be difficult to interpret due to accents
  • some quantative research options as well as qualitative
  • It has helped to drive our problem statement for a new product
  • It has helped to hypothasise and create our NVP
The guides that are on the website have been good to refer to if something comes up that I am not sure of. The ability to have access to power sessions with other researchers that you can book have also been benefical.
It is a product that is easy to use and fulfls it's aims.
It has been beneficial to get customer feedback quickly as then I am not waiting for long periods of time to gather what evidence I need to then analyse what has been said, make ammendments based on the feedback and then progress the product.
Survey Monkey is good for providing more quantatative results. It is quick and very easy to use with instant feedback as it is completed. There are no transcripts to deal with, checking through to make sure they have been annotated correctly.

When running a test on the first impression of a product then user testing has been beneficial, if a product is not right from the first stage then there is more that is going to need to be changed. Having customer feedback at the start can also help to move the product forward and shape the next stage.

Evaluating UserTesting and Competitors

Yes - UserZoom was previously used but we felt that it wasn't providing us with the quality of participants which we required for our testing studies. We were also limited with the number of tests which we could perform at a specific time by our team.

We are always looking for a product which offers the consistency for our usability testing that our products and our customers desire. UserTesting is a trusted platform we can obtain that first-hand view of our customers and allows us to observe their experience to help us identify pain points and ux outcomes for improvement within our products.
Perhaps have a trial of each platform first.
