Overall Satisfaction with ZoomInfo

We use it strictly in the sales organization. It helps solve the scaling and targeting issue due to its data accuracy. With account based marketing (or messaging) it's pivotal to have the right 3-5 people.

Our marketing organization tried to use it for a period of time but they found the tool to have too wide of a funnel and with the legal space having limited titles it was difficult to target.

  • Improved targeting - some titles or areas do not match LinkedIn or email signatures
  • Poor API to Salesforce - really needs to be its own browser
  • ROI was early - but only used in this position for 6 months before we turned off.
  • Efficiency was a huge plus for phone numbers, not as much on emails. We used a third party messaging system (SalesLoft) so our workflow became bulky thus cut both software.
  • Database grew by 500%.

Zoominfo is by far and away the best software for larger companies with needs of pure contact and not much more for context. They do a terrific job in updating and keeping accurate, as well as making sure you get value. For smaller teams without a dedicated outbound role, the investment might not be worth it versus the free tools in the market.
Really well suited in a SDR/BDR/Cold Calling perspective. With add-on tools in LinkedIn, email is not its most valuable addition, but I am confident that direct dial phone numbers is something not many out there have.

Less appropriate if you are a small team or one individual (like me), who cannot spend their whole day prospecting. ROI is not as high, thus why I chose to discontinue them.
