This is great for small to medium businesses, giving you more freedom to be where you need to be and not always glued to the office. Larger companies can benefit from the fact that they can have multiple office locations all tied to the same system. Businesses that need a more personal touch may not need all the features that the Virtual Office provides.

Pros

  • All services (Chat, Meeting, Phones) all in one application
  • 8x8 has been very flexible to work with as an organization and don't seem to be committed to strict arbitrary policies.
  • Does not require a VPN connection to use their solution.

  • One-click dialing directly from the computer is definitely a strength.
  • Local numbers used in dialing to increase the number of connections is an asset.
  • The pricing is a plus. It is one of the most affordable calling tools on the market.

Cons

  • I think the 8x8 mobile app for Android could be more visually appealing. More use of color, contrast, etc.
  • SMS service should not require a subscription.
  • Call quality is sometimes questionable. App has glitches where it freezes at times.

  • Inbound call functionally is still limited and not something that my team utilizes.
  • The reporting features for the some of the lower pricing tiers are very limited.
  • Downloading reports from the cloud can be quite slow at times.

Alternatives Considered

We are still using Genesys services for our ACD solution. I still feel that Genesys has a better, more complete offering that is overall more stable and reliable than 8x8. If the choice was mine alone, our entire company would be on Genesys PureCloud. My company chose 8x8 for the cost savings we were able to negotiate with them.

CrazyCall integrated with our CRM better than the other competitors. The integration was seamless and offered exactly what we were looking for. Some of the other competitors that we were evaluating were not able to integrate with our CRM in the same manner. That is why we ended up going with CrazyCall
