accessiBe

accessiBe is well suited for making a site accessible by people with disabilities which is one of the major requirements these days. It might not be appropriate for a multilingual site

Google Analytics

Every website should have Google Analytics installed. Even if you're not ready to use it, it can at least start capturing data. Then when you're ready, you'll have plenty of data to dive into. Even if you're only mildly interested in your website's performance, there are plenty of stats in Google Analytics you'll find useful. I find it a little trickier for mobile apps (between Google Analytics for mobile apps and Firebase, I'm still not completely sure which one to be using).

Google Analytics

  • Provides anonymized traffic data - where people come from
  • With proper implementation, shows the best source for converting users
  • Shows the time on site, time on page, and bounce rate, to determine the value of pages and content
  • Shows user flow - what's the path users are taking around your website?
  • Shows where users are dropping off

Cons

accessiBe

  • I would be happy to see a few changes to the UI.
  • The deployment requires some changes and compatibility with different devices.
  • I wish to see more features to control automation.

Google Analytics

  • It can be difficult to create the segment I'm looking for.
  • I don't always trust that the data is telling me what I think it is. Sometimes unsure how the data is being calculated or what exactly I'm looking at.
  • I know there are a ton of things I'm missing! Help me discover the features I need :)

Having used Google Analytics for the last 9 years, I have no intention of discontinuing my service. Google Analytics is a fantastic product that provides me with almost everything I could wish for. The positives in this product outweigh any negatives that you might find. I can not think of a single reason to not immediately start using Google Analytics for your business.

Google Analytics provides a wealth of data, down to minute levels. That is it's greatest detriment: find the right information when you need it can be a cumbersome task. You are able to create shortcuts, however, so it can mitigate some of this problem. Google is continually refining Analytics, so I do not doubt there will be improvements

The Google reps respond very quickly. However, sometimes they can overly call you to set up an apportionment. I'm very proficient and sometimes when I talk to reps, they give beginner tutorials and insights that are a waste of time. I wish Google would understand my level of expertise and assign me to a rep (long-term) that doesn't have to walk me through the basics.

Make sure to put the tracking code on every page. Ideally this would be part of a template or "include" so you can update the code on all pages (or at least within pages of the same category) at once.

Alternatives Considered

accessiBe

I tried Userway, but it does not work well as accessiBe.Userway only grants minor changes to design to the website and accommodates fewer disabilities.Their changes are mostly for visuals and not structural to web accessibility. For example, alt text for images with description and keyword insertion is not supported.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics has similar reporting capabilities as Adobe Analytics and Webtrends Analytics. But it stands out when it comes to having higher limits or caps on web server calls or website hits to analyze without charging extra. For advanced analysis, Google Analytics does a better job of integrating with BigQuery so SQL can be used against relational databases to run queries and pull non-clickstream analytics which are correlated to clickstream analytics. Example: Invoice sales correlated to Clickstream conversions. When it comes to tracking qualitative data such as survey responses to measure customer satisfaction or heatmaps and session replays, Hotjar and Foresee tools are rated higher. To track impact of SEO marketing campaigns on driving awareness of a particular brand, category or drive higher conversions of specific items, Conductor Searchlight does a better job because it also compares results of our SEO campaigns to industry trends and benchmarks

Return on Investment

accessiBe

  • accessiBe had made our business good enough to boost the overall income because of people from different countries.
  • We haven't noticed any negative impact yet. However, we are trying to collect the data.
  • The overall sale of products has gone after using accessiBe.

Google Analytics

  • While very little in this world is truly free, the only real cost to using Google Analytics is time, from your PM's, your web admins, your engineers, your email admins, and QA analysts--but it is without a doubt time well spent.
  • Because you run the risk of paralysis by analysis, one must pick their battles with Google Analytics. If you go in with a clear, concise set of objectives, and a competent technical supporting cast, you will succeed.
  • On the reverse side of the same coin, if you come in without a purpose, you run the risk of getting bogged down in all of the information without immediate relevance, and you may just leave behind this treasure trove of invaluable analytics in search of said relevance.
