It's perfect for pulling tax related salary info in seconds. Sometimes figuring out different tax rates and amounts for customers can be lengthy, ADP makes this simple with this tool.

Jolt

Jolt is great for organizations that have a lot of consistent requirements that need to be done on a regular basis. Organizations that have a lot of changing variables daily may find it more difficult to set up Jolt, but it could be done. If you want accountability for certain tasks, Jolt is a great tool for that as well.

Pros

  • Employees enjoy the 24/7 access to their timecards, pay stub, annual statements, and accruals.
  • Managers now have up to date information to review attendance as often as they like.
  • Payroll has been able to eliminate many manual internal processes as a result.
  • Time off reports are easily accessible.
  • Manual calculations are eliminated thus ensuring a more accurate payroll for hours worked, overtime, and benefit usage.

  • Scheduling because it is very simple to show available shifts, days, times, and assign as needed. Then distribute the entire schedule to everyone.

Cons

  • The Time off Requests feature is limited, if an employee requests time in April for July, and in June the employee reports to someone new the system does not update the request to the new manager, it is still sent to old manager.
  • In the 2.0 Work Force Now, ezLaborManager allowed you to add a note to the day but in the 10.0 version you may only add a note to the time sheet not the day.
  • Reports cannot be customized to incorporate data from other areas such as payroll and HR.

  • Honestly, I think there may be too many features! If there could be a more basic, baseline version of Jolt for scheduling, I think it might be a bit more user-friendly if someone else had to take over for me.

ADP is a good system to track information but, what it lacks is just some detail that provides time savings. Some instances they have made "updates" that tend to have been better previous to those "updates." One example is for staff to see how they have used their time off in the past. There should be an easy way to report and review such other than looking at pay periods. Pay statement and review and totals can also improve.

The training provided was based on a generic database and reporting which made it difficult to compare when you had your own database to work at. It also didn't provide good written materials that would be useful after the training session. It was more geared towards the practice tests or applications within the training.

Again, since we have not used anything in the past, I can not compare one product to the other.

Since opening our first cafe, we have had Jolt right out of the box. I have nothing to compare this to.
