Having used several other products from other vendors, I am not aware of any that even come close to Cisco Jabber's features. That is especially the case if you are using Cisco IP Phones like our company does. In addition, Cisco Jabber can help you implement a cost-effective hybrid network model. You can easily let Cisco Jabber users communicate with other Cisco users on actual phones via the extension numbers if you don't require all users to have phones.

PanTerra Streams

If you work remotely or need to step out of the office you don't have to worry about missing important calls and can communicate with coworkers easily without waiting for emails.

  • This tool is password protected which keeps us safe and secure from all threats and problems and I really like this.
  • I find their customer support to be very thorough and helpful.
  • Now it has also become quite easy to create groups and even message people with two choices of either doing it personally or announcing it in a group.
  • The desktop sharing feature present in the product helps us in times when we get stuck somewhere and need any advice from seniors.
  • The alert feature is also very good because now you can message a person when they are unavailable.

Cisco Jabber

  • Calls aren't directly Synced with the actual Cisco Phone. E.g. when the Cisco Jabber is not running, and I start making calls using the actual phone, then I run Cisco Jabber, the call history is not reflected back to Cisco Jabber. This may require additional setup from our end but I cannot confirm.

We really like the flexibility of jabber. With the exception of a few quirks that we have found, we see a bright future with it. We depend on it daily and will continue to do so for several years to come. As our team grows, more users will be using it and more screen sharing will be done. It it an indispensable tool that we simply could not imagine going without. It makes communicating so much easier when time is of the essence.

There are still some improvements to be made between MAC and Windows users. Also the share screen between various devices does not always work. Any user can quickly adapt and understand how to use Jabber. The interface is very intuitive and straight forward. The transition between interfaces on PCs, to tablets, to mobile devices is also very consistent and set up almost identically

Even with the Jabber client, Cisco support is outstanding, with the knowledge and quick response you would expect from them. Their engineers understand their products and our issues are usually addressed quickly and by the same person we originally connect with instead of getting passed to additional people. Follow-up is good too. Their support is thorough.

Cisco Jabber prevails over the Skype for Business option, particularly in those organizations where Cisco infrastructure exists, such as the Communications Manager suite, voice gateways and brand devices that use services for the PSTN, since integrations and interoperability are essential. practically native.
Additionally, it could be added that the support of the manufacturer, even the integrations towards other 3rd party vendors such as Microsoft, are very well developed.
