It's well suited for any IT Support organization. Tech support to repair computers. Support role for driver issues such as a printer, scanner, and other hardware. Helping to maintain corporate end-users. Maintaining a sales force that is on the road and not easily accessible. We use it to make firmware updates to copiers, set up drivers for printing, configuring email, and scan-to-folder.

Splashtop Business Access

It's great for Amazon Marketing firms who don't want to risk logging into their main client accounts from their own computers. It's also great if you have a special desktop computer at work that you need to access from your laptop anywhere. The pricing makes it economical and the setup is quite easy.

  • There is virtually no lag when using LogMeIn on a client's workstation.
  • The "start as a service" feature is very helpful for using it while UAC is enabled.
  • It typically requires fewer permissions to run on client workstations than other software.

Splashtop Business Access

  • Remote desktop - Obviously this would be the whole reason for Splashtop but for some reason, it works better than others we have used in the past.
  • File transfer is really nice and it actually works the way it is supposed to.
  • SOS function is great because it allows for us to easily access machines that normally we could not unless a full client is installed.

  • Customer Prompting is way too complex. Requires too much of the average user to initiate a clean session.
  • Buggy issue for High DPI desktop settings and / or weir resolution settings
  • Sometimes chat windows becomes unusable and this also kills the ability to enter notes - need a way to edit notes after a session has ended.

  • You must download the application in order to use remote access. No browser remote access interface support.
  • There were issues with screen blanking on remote computers while a session was active, but that has been resolved.
  • There isn't a remote "wake-on-LAN' feature

LogMeIn Rescue is easy to start and use and does not consume resources on your computer slowing it down. We are also often providing support for non-tech savvy end users who might have a hard time downloading and installing remote access software, especially when firewall warnings start to appear. LogMeIn Rescue's process is intuitive and easy to follow for our users.

It's hard to find any significant faults with Splashtop. It offers a very responsive remote access experience with clear and simple interface. There's very little learning curve as it's toolbar mimics other popular remote access solutions graphical user interface. It's gives you access to your remote computer quickly and stays out of your way

To be honest, I have only had to use the support once from Splashtop and that was because of a silly user error and then one other time to inquire about upcoming features for future versions. So I can't really speak to their support level as I have not really needed to use it. So that can be viewed two ways I suppose. But I see it as a positive.

The only previous product we used before LogMeIn Rescue for this type of support situation, we would use Remote Desktop through Windows. This option is severely limited and didn't allow us to support remote users or those with different operating systems. LogMeIn Rescue auto configures the setup and makes connections quick and easy

Splashtop Business Access

Splashtop has beaten Kaseya in every metric I care about. I constantly struggled with Kaseya's complicated UI filled with lots of buttons and consistently bad connections. Once we switched to Splashtop, all of my frustrations disappeared. It is easy to train a new user on Splashtop since the set-up is quick and easy and the UI is so straightforward. I have not yet had any connection issues.

  • I am able to provide faster support to my customers without scheduling an onsite visit.
  • I only wish it would allow me to install hardware. That is the only thing I have to go onsite for anymore.

  • Splashtop is a great asset for the compliance heavy clients especially. Even if this isn't the "primary" remote access tool, it needs to be ready to employ.
  • Depending on the tier of software, all of the features needed are available and at your disposal.
