Oracle HCM is used by our staffing department so as to facilitate the entire staffing process. It helps to reach a large number of talented individuals using Taleo's Talent Exchange and also increases the reach of a hiring campaign by using social media. Also, one can get a complete overview of the candidates who have been hired and who are in process from anywhere and with any device. One can generate insightful reports using the past data.
  • It is a great solution for managing compliance to various standards and makes audits easy and transparent.
  • Application forms are customizable and reports are configurable.
  • It is a cloud based solution. So one can access it from any device and any location.
  • Customer support is pathetic and non existent. We have to delve into the issues on our own and solve them.
  • Integrations with ERP and other on-demand solutions are time-consuming.
  • UI and UX is not great. It still feels like a legacy solution in modern era. Navigation also needs some work as it takes a lot of clicks and steps to upload CVs and apply to a job.
It is one of the best tools available in the market right now to track and manage applications. It is flexible, scalable and provides complete control to the organization. Moreover, it is a web-based tool which reduces the maintenance costs. So, if you are not wary of storing your data in the cloud and are looking at a comprehensive talent management solution, Taleo should be on top of your list.

Only the recruiting and staffing department of my organization is currently using Taleo. It is not being used for internal recruitment as of now. So only the HR department is using it. They primarily use it for receiving job applications and hiring of the candidate. It makes it easy to keep track of applicants who have applied for specific roles. Also, the applicants' profiles remain in the system which can later be searched if required for a relevant position.
  • Oracle HCM (Taleo) makes it convenient for recruiters to keep track of all the applicants and which stage they are in the hiring process for each job opening. It also makes it easy for applicants to see what all relevant jobs are available and they can set it up to receive notifications regarding the relevant jobs.
  • Its maintenance is easy and does not require a lot of effort from our end as it is a cloud-based application and does not reside on our server.
  • Helps to identify which candidates have already applied directly through the organization's career portal so as not to duplicate the applications from the placement consultancy firms and end up paying them. This also helps when auditing is done as a complete trail is available.
  • Capability to search candidates is somewhat limited. The search results are not exhaustive and sometimes miss candidates satisfying the search criteria.
  • Taleo does not have a mobile app which would have made life much easier for recruiters as they could have accessed it on the go as well.
  • Reports are customizable but not easily alterable and UI seems somewhat dated. It logs out frequently and at times has hung and crashed for me.
Taleo offers a flexible and scalable talent management solution especially when hiring managers are not supposed to use it directly. As, its mobile version is fairly limited and does not have an app, all the benefits of Taleo like reduced approval times can not be attained when approvals are required by managers when they are traveling. So, in my opinion, it is one of the best tools available for candidate profile management and acts as a repository of candidate profiles. When entire workflows are required to be managed using Taleo, it is not the most efficient option.

Oracle HCM is used by the whole organization to refer their friends and family for relevant positions in the company. We also market our recruitment drives on social media using Taleo so that we can have maximum participation from the relevant candidates. Taleo helps in providing a holistic view about the available talent and required talent to the management. At any point, Taleo makes it easy to identify if an open position can be filled internally by an existing employee.
  • Along with the Talent management tool Taleo, Oracle HCM also has a performance management solution. It helps employees set their professional goals in alignment to the organizational strategic goals.
  • It provides a lot of employee intelligence through its career and succession solution. It helps forecast which employees are on the verge of leaving the organization. It is also helpful in identifying skillsets which an employee would need to acquire in order to advance in his or her career and then the manager can proactively help the employee acquire those skills.
  • It can be integrated with our ERP system and also with other job listing websites like LinkedIn. Integration with ERP helps in seeing a complete picture of the organization. Also, employee compensation can be linked to the performance directly through the integration with the finance module without much manual intervention.
  • Customer Service Desk needs a lot of improvement. After raising a ticket, they take a long time to respond which hampers the productivity.
  • Taleo does not have a complete log of interactions between the candidate and the organisaton just like a CRM has. Also, as it does not connect to LinkedIn, any changes to the candidate's profile are not updated in the database.
  • Its interface is very clumsy. It logs you out without intimation when you are in middle of your work. Copying the data from a Word document is a challenge. Also, while the integration to other systems is possible, it is not very straightforward.
Oracle HCM is a complete solution for talent acquisition, performance measurement, and career development. For an organization that is looking for a one-stop solution for all their human capital needs, Oracle HCM is one of the best solutions available in the market. However, a few things like absence management are missing from Oracle HCM which will force many companies to just use Taleo from Oracle's HCM suite and use some other solution for rest of their HCM needs.

  • Extensive training needed

Great for sourcing and moving the new hire process. Not so great when updating candidates.

Oracle HCM cloud with Taleo is used to replace current Peoplesoft HCM solutions for managing HR, payroll, benefits, time and talent management solutions for the entire company. HCM cloud offers more flexible and comprehensible solutions including on-premise or on-demand or hybrid (cloud). Simplified data migration, flexible integration, highly configurable report layouts make an HCM cloud implementation a great choice for the organization's HR, payroll, benefits, time and talent management, performance management etc. Cloud solutions offer zero downtime and require practically zero upgrade resources to scale up the applications and its modules.
  • Highly configurable report layouts and processes which ideally help business and HR users.
  • Zero downtime for the application and also easy upgrades to the HCM cloud applications is a big advantage over custom Oracle solutions like Peoplesoft.
  • Secure, availability over cloud (private, public & hybrid) rollouts, easy data migrations and flexible integration platforms help in making HCM cloud work well.
  • Could offer more custom and tailored solutions for integrations.
  • Could offer more choices in data encryption and to help enable/build a secure environment.
  • On-premise/hybrid cloud [means an] increase in cost for infrastructure and also limited implementations/rollouts for bigger organizations.
Oracle has a brand weight that fuels both long-term viability and customer attraction—making the solution difficult to dismiss in any HCM software selection process. Oracle HCM Cloud with Taleo is well suited for customers and offers options such as on premise/private/hybrid cloud solutions. HCM cloud offerings provide some of the best enterprise information security in the software industry, thanks in large part to Oracle's database beginnings which allow for granular security (including encryption at column/row or full table depth), as well as an IT infrastructure for hosting that is best-in-class. New improvements in HCM cloud are what the future of HR industry needs per multiple surveys conducted in the software industry.

Oracle HCM Cloud (Taleo) was being used as an applicant tracking system for the entire organization. The system was the primary source for recruiting in our human resources department and with the hiring manger in the company. The system allowed for sourcing, tracking, and review of interested candidates for a variety of positions within our organization.
  • We had a relatively positive experience with the customer service center if we ever experienced an issue with the system.
  • The sourcing that is available suited the our recruitment needs well.
  • The tracking capabilities and level of detail that was captured for interested candidates was helpful in making hiring and selecting decisions.
  • The single resume upload feature was a negative side. There was no bulk loading. One resume-at-a-time is not very productive.
  • There are not as many analytic tools available for the program compared to other similar systems.
  • It seems like there are many steps or processes to click through for applicants when submitting a resume and on the administrator side for viewing a resume.
Taleo is less appropriate in my opinion when there is already less familiarity with applicant tracking systems. There seems to be a steep learning curve for the users when we have new staff learning the system, and there is also a steep learning curve for the custom reporting feature, which is already considered a separate feature of the program.

Taleo is being used as an advanced application tracking system which can help with first level screening of candidates as well. So, it is currently being used mainly by the recruitment team. It helps right from posting the job opening to the time a candidate joins the organization. The major business problem it has addressed is that now everyone right from the HR manager to the hiring manager is on the same page in terms of hiring. Every stage of the hiring process is tracked and can be accessed later on for various analysis.
  • It records all the candidate information including all the communication history. This helps in identifying the source from which candidate came to know about the job openings and other details.
  • It allows integration with a lot of third party applications like background check agencies and placement consultancy firms which can directly upload the candidate profile through the Taleo.
  • It can be accessed anywhere in the world using any device which is such a boon as compared to traditional on premise solutions which can only be accessed via secure networks.
  • User interface is outdated and it keep on signing you out. UI and UX need serious improvement and it needs to be a little bit more lighter on resources as the system starts hanging when accessing Taleo.
  • A new Report can be customized as per the requirement but once it is set up , altering the report is a nightmare. It's better to recreate the report from scratch rather than editing one.
  • Customer service needs a drastic makeover. I did not expect this from Oracle. At times, when it is absolutely critical, we have failed to get any support from the customer service.
  • It is an expensive tool and still does not provide all the functionalities of a complete CRM solution and employee portal.
It is mainly suited for the very large global organizations which acquire talent from across the globe. Since it supports multiple languages, it suits such organizations. For these organizations, it is imperative to have a candidate profile inventory as the project pipeline is also big. For the smaller organizations, it is a handy tool for candidate management but they will not be able to utilize all the capabilities and it will not be as valuable an investment for them.

Oracle HCM Cloud is used by the entire organization in different capacities. It is being used by HR teams to hire and manage talent. Employees use it to see different openings within the organization and also to refer other candidates. It makes talent management easy and one can do it on the go as it is available over the cloud. It gives a complete picture of the talent pool within and outside the organization. The candidates are directly able to apply using Taleo and it is easy to customize application forms for different job positions.
  • Single HCM system allows better talent management. It becomes easy and convenient when new employees are joining as all the approvals are done quickly and it drastically reduces the time and effort in these processes.
  • Reports and applications are completely configurable and one can easily automate the tasks which doesn't require human intervention to increase productivity.
  • It also easily integrates with other service providers like online video interview services and background verification service providers.
  • It also helps to increase the reach of a hiring drive by advertising to social media directly.
  • Customer support is not up to the mark though it has improved in the last few months.
  • Applying for a job is time consuming and does not offer an option to extract the information automatically from Linkedin.
  • Searching candidate resumes is not optimized. It can have better way to organize resumes, add tags so that relevant candidates can be searched with ease when a new requirement comes up.
Oracle HCM Cloud is relevant for medium size to large size companies where a considerable amount of time and effort goes into hiring and managing talent. The companies with a lot of internal departments and that are operating in multiple geographies definitely need to have a unified system like this so as to have a complete snapshot of the talent pool.
If an organization is looking for a complete HR administration solution inclusive of a talent management solution, then Oracle HCM cloud is not the ideal solution. Oracle has a separate solution named 'Fusion' to pair with Taleo, migration to which takes a huge effort and cost.

This is being used by a department and HCM has benefited our organization with its rules where we are able to put hard stops to certain scenarios.
  • Global Human Resources is great and top of the line.
  • It simplifies the experience for new candidates and talent acquisition
  • Mobile user experience is great on any mobile device.
  • The UI is not the easiest, therefore, is not as user-friendly as it could be.
  • The user interface could be updated and could have some rapid modernization.
  • Integrate the same user experience through a social media integration.
  • User interface is easier than legacy systems (Oracle eBS).
  • Investing in improvements in functionality e.g. version 11 had many enhancements in the user interface.
  • Integration amongst the different cloud products is difficult and expensive.
  • Production seems to be different from Test. The same test scenarios fail in Production!

Oracle HCM Cloud Taleo is used to manage the talent acquisition process across the entire company. Oracle HCM Cloud Workforce Compensation is used for the annual and quarterly promotion and progression cycles for the entire company. Both solutions automate our business processes.
  • User interface is easier than legacy systems (Oracle eBS).
  • Investing in improvements in functionality e.g. version 11 had many enhancements in the user interface.
  • Support process and model. The Oracle SR process is extremely inefficient, slow and ineffective. Most of our SRs are closed with the response "Cannot be replicated". If you want action on an SR, you always have to escalate it within the SR process but also with your CSM. SRs take months for action and/or resolution.
  • Integration amongst the different Cloud products is difficult and expensive.
  • Production seems to be different from Test. The same test scenarios fail in Production!
HCM Cloud is best if NOT in coexistence with legacy Oracle systems e.g. eBS. HCM Cloud is best for companies that had manual processes and Excel or Access. HCM Cloud is not suited for companies that are not ready to adopt standardized business processes.

Oracle is currently used for the performance review of the top 1000 people. We will deploy the succession planning and the talent review functions in the next six months. It supports us in the new organization we are setting up. As the group in itself is quite young, that will allow us to have a better view on our internal talent.
  • Easy to use Talent Review
  • Nice integration between Succession Planning & Talent Review
  • Standard fields that do not fit our needs are hard to hide
  • Standard functionalities are great guidance but a little more of flexibility would be great
  • Personal & Talent information are spread/split in different places. This is not user friendly
I really appreciate the talent review and succession planning functionalities. The daily management of HR data seems a little less exciting - too many confirmation popups between every step. The reporting/HR dashboard could be improved.

Taleo is being used across the organization for managing HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management and succession planning. This system streamlines the hiring to onboarding process by identifying open positions, funding sources for positions, approvals by decisions makers before and after a position has been posted. It is also being used to track candidates' progress through the entire hire process.
  • Taleo makes it much easier for our central HR and departments to find great candidates.
  • Streamlines the recruitment to onboarding process.
  • Improves communications and interactions between candidates, hiring managers, recruiters and HR.
  • Integration with other systems is complex and we were told its only possible via flat files.
  • Navigation becomes a problem sometimes
  • The UI can be improved a lot.
If you forgo some of the user interface challenges and integrations the taleo ATS is good tool for finding good candidates and tracking them through the entire hiring process for the entire organization.

Oracle HCM Cloud (Taleo) is used by our hiring managers to create a job requisition for our job openings from Taleo's easy to use templates. It is also used to view detailed information about existing job requisitions and candidates. It makes it easy to post the job, and keep tabs on who has responded to the requisitions.
  • Streamlines (with the use of templates) the ability to post new job requisitions.
  • Gives hiring managers an easy way to see the responses for given job postings.
  • Gives a good amount of information about those potential candidates who have responded to a job posting.
  • The visual interface could be easier, more of a graphic interface than all text lines.
  • Would like to be able to interact with candidates and postings with a click and drag type approach.
  • Automated emails anytime there is a new respondent to a job requisition (Taleo may be able to do this, but haven't seen it).
If you're really looking for an internal candidate for a role, then Taleo may not be the tool you are looking for in recruiting for a given position. But if your job requisition is intended to draw the best candidates from internal and external potential applicants, then I have seen Taleo do a great job at this.

My entire organisation uses Oracle HCM Cloud (including Taleo) for our HR, recruitment, procurement, benefits, expenses, time cards, etc.

We use many modules from Oracle HCM Cloud and it helps us run our business smoother because everything is integrated and easy to find, and most importantly it's all self-service which has reduced the amount of work that HR, recruitment, the accounting department, and management have to do for things to run smoothly day to day.
  • Taleo makes it much easier for our recruitment team to find great candidates.
  • Taleo helps us identify current employees who would be great in different positions (and want to make a move) and so we are able to retain more talent, which is very important to us.
  • Oracle HCM Cloud has allowed us to have all the day-to-day tasks for expenses, payroll, HR, recruitment, benefits, medical leave, vacations, talent reviews, etc. all in one place.
  • Everything is self service which allows many of our operational departments to concentrate on more important tasks than just keeping up with the day-to-day.
  • The UI isn't always great, it could be improved.
  • Sometimes it is difficult to find specific things that you are looking for.
  • The procurement store often does not show relevant search results.
  • In Taleo it is not possible to view a job description and then go back to the results, you have to save the job to the job cart and then go into your account to view it. This is really annoying and I am sure it turns some of the potential candidates off.
Oracle HCM Cloud is perfectly suited for large corporations, especially global ones such as ours, because it allows you to combine numerous modules, integrate them with necessary programs that are department specific, and it is all self-service. This helps us run our operations much smoother and with much less effort. We are also able to set country specific modules (such as the procurement portion, benefits, etc.) which is a huge help to us because then we only need one global department to oversee things such as payroll or expenses.

Given its complexity and potential, I would think that if you have a very small company this might not be the solution for you. Too complicated and large to justify the cost unless you are a mid to large sized company.

Oracle HCM Cloud was used by one of our clients for managing human resource responsibilities. Oracle HCM Cloud has discrete and unique HR capabilities. The HCM dashboard which is one of its predominant features was used extensively by the HR department to view critical HR related activities. It gives information to HR departments related to current headcount, open positions to be filled, goals, bonus pool, recruiting information and social media connect Information. The mere business problem of all information related to HR being scattered out generally is all put together and brought into one platform and one dashboard, which helps the decision maker within the HR department to make quick and constructive decisions.
  • Talent Acquisition is one key challenge for any organization to tackle. Oracle HCM pulls all statistics related to talent and puts them across the dashboard for better and quicker decision making by management.
  • Helps improves communications and interactions between the employer and employees and helps HR understand the concerns of employees better through social media collaborations.
  • Compensation to the employees can be better monitored through the Oracle HCM cloud tool and helps HR to have better control over the same.
  • It doesn't support functionalities like learning and recruitment which is necessity in most organizations.
The dashboard features of Oracle HCM Cloud are very well received by customers and extensively helps HR management by having information related to talent acquisition, HR functionalities etc., on their finger tips. This saves considerable amount of efforts and time, as previously one had to collate the information from multiple sources and get it on the table. The social platform of Oracle HCM cloud is one which has helped our client to build a rapport with their employees. One example could be the knowledge sharing platform, wherein the employees now can easily share their innovations/inventions with their colleagues and the team. This information can be easily reused by the other team and also reward recognition becomes easy.

We used Oracle/Taleo as an ATS for large scale programs. It was helpful in managing big data across the organization when we had a Talent Acquisition team of 50+ and an even bigger program talent pool. It was used in tandem with other ATS across Mosaic/Acosta and helpful in managing email blasts, data and interview flow.
  • Manage big data.
  • Manage targeted marketing.
  • Integrate with other programs such as HireVue.
  • Load time - lots of data housed there so speed wasn't a plus.
  • Overall design is a bit archaic compared to competitors.
It's good for big data- large scale programs/mass hires but for corporate hiring, it's not very efficient.

We use TBE or Taleo Business Edition Recruit as our company's ATS. We use it everyday and have counted on it to support our recruitment processes since 2012. I've personally used it since late 2012 through early 2015. In 2014 we faced a significant growth cycle--a time when we absolutely counted on Taleo to perform as the recruiting tool we needed to process, track, and communicate with hundreds eventually to a few thousand applicants. Taleo is currently used only by our HR department with 2 users.
  • Taleo is a very powerful ATS providing many options for recruiters, hiring managers, and hiring decision makers. Options is a strength because it allows flexible configurability to a particular company's needs.
  • Taleo updates are regular and generally come with enhancements that most users experience as positive.
  • Taleo is cloud-based and the platform has been extremely stable and the service highly reliable--I can't remember any 'downtime' due to the provider (Oracle) in over 2 years.
  • Taleo is missing a strong training/education piece for new users. It's not an easy program to learn. And it's not an easy program to use until you learn enough about how it operates and the rules that govern its structure--like using a lot of energy and slowly pushing a big heavy object until it gains enough momentum to make pushing it noticeably easier.
  • For a small to mid-size business (250 employees now) to expand the functionality of Taleo (which definitely exists in the program) you're looking at a substantial investment in time and money to train well an administrator and daily users as well as hiring managers.
  • I'd like to see an easier and cost effective interface with other HR software such as payroll and a core HR program.
Taleo's strength is also its primary weakness--in my opinion. It's a very robust and powerful recruiting program or ATS--actually capable of advanced features such as position control, multiple users with different access levels from hiring managers, to interview panelists, to outside recruiters. It was onsite when I started with my current employer so it's only after using it for over 2 years that I've been able to learn enough so I can use it well enough to experience appreciation when I log-in instead of something closer to loathing. As an early user I would have rated the program a 3 or 4--having spent a lot of time teaching myself about what Taleo can do and the way I have to use it to get the results I want, I rate it a 7. If I were to use it for another 2 years on a daily basis maybe I'd rate it a 9.

Taleo is our applicant tracking system and it is used by our recruitment team. It helps keep all candidate applications in a centralized place, and allows us to track notes, reasons for rejection, hire dates, etc., for every candidate that interviews for a job with us.
  • Taleo is very user friendly and simple to use. This was the first ATS (applicant tracking system) I used and I quickly learned the system.
  • I love that you can customize tabs to your liking.
  • I love the detailed candidate search engine so I can find candidates who have applied to our company in the past who might be a fit for a current opening.
  • I'd love to be able to search for candidates within a job requisition based on their responses to the screening questions we have attached to our applications.
  • I think Taleo is working on a mobile app - I think it will be nice once they are able to offer this to their users.

  • Taleo has provided a useful platform on which we have been able to build a Job Description Library available for both internal and external viewing.
  • Following set up by a Taleo expert, our Job Description Library has been easy to use, and maintain. Adding, editing and deleting descriptions is easy and while not completely intuitive, does work seamlessly if the simple steps provided by our expert are followed.
  • The Performance Management system provides an excellent structure for examining, recording and tracking professional goals and achievements.
  • There are some glitches in the Performance Management system still. I have had trouble on several occasions saving changes if I input too much material at one time.
  • The Requisitions portion of the Recruiting software is very finicky and for instance works poorly if the screen resolution isn't set the way it "likes".
Taleo requires quite a bit of training for optimal integration and so it is important to have adequate access to a training resource or a lot of frustration could be experienced.

I'm not currently using it at Black Box but have used it at just about every other company that I've worked for and love it. I implemented it as a Manager when I was at Cytec back in 2009 for a division of the company but once the rest of the company got word I was rolling it out; I got the CEO of Cytec excited and I rolled it out throughout the entire organization b/c they did not have an ATS.
  • Has many different versions that can adjust to many different organizations (sizes of organizations)
  • Can be tailored specifically to meet the needs of your organization
  • Easy to learn; even for hiring managers
  • Can be connected to your existing payroll system, background check vendor, website very easily
  • Taleo is not in every language yet. When I rolled it out at Cytec, this was a global rollout and this caused a challenge for some of my regions that did not speak/read English.
  • Because they are so large, sometimes the support is lacking
I don't recommend Taleo for small organizations only b/c of the cost associated with the results. There are other choices that are more cost effective for small to mid size companies but if this is for a large company that is doing a lot of job postings and lots of hiring on a monthly basis; Taleo is a great product and can even grow with you as the company grows. Taleo communicates with you on a regular basis with any upgrades they do, rarely is the system down and they offer many training sessions (great for new hires).

Taleo - Pretty Average

We currently use Taleo as our Applicant Tracking System. It is used by our whole organization. Prior to Taleo, AZZ had not had an applicant tracking system so positions were posted manually on our website, candidates were received via email, and approvals for requisitions and offers were done via a paper trail. Taleo did meet all of these needs and is generally pretty user friendly. Since we went from no applicant tracking system to having one, it helped a lot. Additionally, resumes that were previously received were generally only reviewed for the position they originally applied for and then were filed away either in a manual or electronic file that was more than likely never seen by anyone again. Now, we can search Taleo for relevant candidates for any position.
  • Taleo does a good job of organizing the Home "My View" page so you can see what is most important to you at a glance.
  • Taleo does a good job in being able to track where each candidate is in the job process.
  • Taleo makes it easy to send candidates to those within the organization that need to view them. You can select hiring managers already entered in the system or CC/BCC those not in the system already.
  • There is often glitches in the system where we cannot select the options to narrow searches for resumes or requisitions.
  • When we preview a resume using the quick view magnifying glass and try to change the status of the candidate, the screen that pops up freezes and won't let us scroll to the bottom. Pushing tab and enter will get you out of the page so is a work around, but annoying.
  • I wish that offer letters were easier to configure. I enter in all the info that Taleo asks for but the pre-generated offer it gives often needs cleaning up. It would be nice if when you plug in the information you could see a "pre-view" of the offer while still on the page you enter information so if something needed editing you could do it there.
I think for larger companies where you have a lot of budget for the system and making it more configurable then it may be a good option. Since we are a midsized company, I think another ATS may have been a better fit for us but we use Oracle for most of our platforms and eventually when we get everything up and running for the on-boarding it will make it easier.

We use Taleo within the recruiting organization at my firm. Before we implemented Taleo there was no applicant/candidate tracking system in place. We have now been using Taleo for almost six years for applicant tracking, candidate management, requisition posting and our careers website interface. Since adding Taleo our processes have become more efficient and manageable and collecting and reporting historical information has been made much easier.
  • When a report is set up properly Taleo does a good job of compiling and extracting necessary candidate information.
  • Taleo is a useful tool for reviewing hiring metrics.
  • Taleo does a good job of managing candidate information including contact logs.
  • Taleo is currently upgrading the system so I have not yet been able to gain a full understanding of new offerings, but in the past the reporting tools have not been the easiest to work with. Once a report was set up it was difficult to edit it and the reporting tool as a whole was not very user friendly.
  • Taleo's interface is difficult to work with as you need to toggle back and forth between pages when editing or creating layouts. It also logs you out as changes are made which makes it difficult to use.
We recently made changes and upgrades to our system with Taleo. If the upgrades are done well and allow easier utilization and reporting Taleo will be a very strong tool. The system does a good job with applicant tracking and candidate management which are the areas I utilize most. You can customize page layouts for internal recruiters/HR managers as well as external applications which allows different types of information to be collected and viewed. This is an important feature if your company uses the program within different internal organizations, we use it for experienced recruiting as well as campus recruiting and it allows me to view the student specific information I need such as major and GPA, but that we don't require for our experienced candidates. Being able to customize page layouts, applications, candidate next steps and more makes it a strong program.

We used Taleo at my former company - a global Public Relations firm. Prior to Taleo we did not have an ATS.
  • Easy job postings
  • Search features
  • More basic versions
For a large global company Taleo is a strong product. For a smaller organization, it is too robust.

Taleo is used on a global level by our organization to manage the candidate selection process, feed to our payroll and employee database, integrate with various vendors that support our process and generation of reporting to substantiate work efforts and trending.
  • If utilized correctly the tool offers transparency and data mobility across global locations.
  • Offers an intuitive approach to customize and manage flow of activities required in selection and hiring process.
  • Good Business Analytics tool for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Would like to see a more interactive function to replace " Request for Contribution" that allows for more complex activities to be tracked and managed.
  • Would like the configuration piece to be better indexed to find tool needed
  • Would love a function similar to pivot tables to be available when building reports.
Taleo is like a car, you can purchase the basics or a more "bells and whistles" model. This can alter the experience of the end user and organization. I have worked in both environments and the extra investment spent for the high end tool is well worth it. The tool is better suited for a complex, large scale operation. Use of data storage to house interview documents and hire documents can be more expensive but this allows Taleo to be used as a records repository, which is key when working across multiple locations.
