We use Microsoft 365 for our hosted email platform for every at the company now, making it easier for everyone to work remotely if they need to and lower our dependency on the server room in the office staying online. Now employees can get their email from any computer and from any internet connection, with minimal setup needed.
- it requires minimal setup to get up and running initially.
- Microsoft support manages almost everything for you.
- Good value for what you get for the yearly subscription.
- Speed can sometimes be an issue since everything is cloud based.
- Microsoft is known for pushing out updates before they are fully tested and can be buggy.
- It would be nice to have a lifetime subscription option.
- Microsoft 365 is critical to my org because it provides anywhere access to email.
- Microsoft 365 most important feature is also that it gives full access to all the Office programs to each user, like excel and word.
- Microsoft 365 also gives each user 1 terabyte of storage space which is great for backing up and decentralized storage.
- Microsoft 365 has had a positive ROI impact on my org because even if my business internet is down, email is still flowing to Microsoft's servers.
- Microsoft 365 had a negative ROI when it replaced our in-house email server because it has a reoccurring cost, as opposed to an in-house email server which has a one-time cost.
- Microsoft 365 had a positive ROI when the pandemic hit because it made working from home very easy for all our users.
We have tried using an in-house Microsoft Exchange server as well but ultimately moved to using Microsoft 365 because it decentralized our email and gave all the users access to Microsoft Excel and Word programs at the same time. It also gives each user 1 terabyte of cloud storage for a backup of their files as well.
