Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams
We currently use Microsoft Teams as a chat tool, to provide quick communication that is not as intrusive as a phone call. Previously we had been using Skype for Business, but have switched to Teams within the last year. It is available for use across the entire organization, due to our licensing with Microsoft Office 365, though it is not expected that everyone uses it.
Pros
- Provides a unified chat client that is accessible from any platform.
- Provides screen sharing and ad-hoc video conferencing.
Cons
- The layout of the tool can be challenging to figure out, even for long-time users.
- Calling quality is not always great.
- It has provided a tool that is available to all of our users and can be used to communicate with all of our users.
- It makes it easier for groups to collaborate, and reduces the need for in-person meetings.
First of all, Microsoft Teams wasn't my selection. If I had to choose, my organization would be using Webex Teams due to the integration it has with our phone system. Really, I feel the tools are very much the same minus that. The one thing I will say about Microsoft Teams is that it feels a bit more polished than Webex Teams. It also has the Office 365 integration, so it seems both have their advantages.
