Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Visio

We use Visio to make block diagrams for various project plans. Specifically, I have used it for making AV diagrams to show stakeholders what it will take in order to make a conference room perform the tasks asked by them. The complexity levels within Visio can be helpful in updating floorplans on occasion as well, but I would prefer making something in Bluebeam for that specifically.
  • Block diagrams
  • Flowcharts and UML plans
  • Floorplan updates
  • Org Charts
  • Better Office 365 view
  • Image detection and integration into floor plan pieces
  • Manually moving connectors could be easier
  • We're able to show a professional flow chart really quick.
  • The service can be added quickly to someone's Office 365 account (accounting for propagation time) and is allowed on multiple devices.
  • Exporting to PDF is simple so you can lock in on a project's chart or plan for everyone to view.
Visio does a great job with flowchart work. If you already have a subscription to Office 365, then its not much more to add to your current license. draw.io is a free service that you can use online, but it requires you to be online in order to use it at all.

Bluebeam is a better option to use for floorplan work, but it does cost a lot more.

Lucidchart was something we looked into but didn't go with it because it would be a separate cost that could have been bundled with the services we already have with Microsoft.
Visio will work really well for someone using it to make some flow charts, org charts, and universal markup language charts.
I don't see it being the easiest when working on floor plans because importing the plans doesn't work out too well and requires you to make pointers for connections if you brought in one big picture rather than individualized pieces.
