Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Since the COVID outbreak, we work almost completely remotely and are always looking for ways to improve/enhance our meetings, especially our retrospective. In the past, we have used the Island, so when I got offered a beta version of workrooms, I jumped right in. I'm part of a small
software team (7 people) and we used the workroom for our retrospective.
We loved the question
cards and some of the interactive features (like the radio, hats, and camera)
We used a simple Miro
sprint template in focus mode, which was okay but not awesome. Walking around on a virtual island in a virtual room adds fun to the online meeting and makes it more interactive. However, we found that going into focus mode on the big screen and working with the Miro board took away that interactive feeling and it was like looking at a normal retrospective board. Next time we
want to try to go to different boards (breakout ‘rooms’ setting).

- adds fun
- makes meetings online more interactive
- I love the possibility to be in the same room/call and have a private conversation
- Features like the question cards are awesome, I'd like to see more (like picture cards and other interactive features)
- Gamification - I would like a list of game ideas/icebreakers like there are 3 hats try to find them first... (we love a good competition)
- Adding fun to retrospectives can make them more productive, but I can't say for sure whether the results are better or worse than with a different type of meeting.
I like the templates they offer (there can always be more) and how easy it is to share a screen with others. An improvement would be if people with a link can participate without the extra authorization email. It isn't easier or harder to use than other remote collaboration tools, but I like to switch it up and keep our online meetings interesting.
Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?
Not sure
Are you happy with Miro's feature set?
Yes
Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of Miro go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Miro again?
Yes
When I want to add a splash of fun and interactivity I prefer to use Mibo and Miro and Mentimeter. For simple (one-on-one) online meetings I prefer the other options. I also would like to add Among Us as a comparison because the game and the island and the workroom breath the same kind of fun-together-apart vibe I sometimes like to have with my team.
