Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro in a variety of ways with a variety of different people. Within cross-functional teams dedicated to specific customer segments we use Miro to define customer needs, understand customer journeys, and empathize with customer pain points. Within my product management team we use Miro to brainstorm, ideate, iterate, and prioritize. With customers I use Miro as an interactive tool for virtual focus groups, to help them provide feedback and ideas independent of other attendees' influence, prior to whole group discussion. This is perhaps my favorite application. In all cases I find Miro helps my teams/customers get ideas out on the table in a visual way, eliminating misunderstandings and ensuring that all points are raised and heard. It's incredibly useful especially with more introverted collaborators, or those who need to get their ideas out "on paper" rather than verbally in a meeting. And it's *so* easy to set up and implement. I can't say enough about the positive effects of using it!
  • Provides easy to use templates for brainstorming, product planning, understanding customers
  • Gives a visual platform for internal and external stakeholders to raise and see ideas/feedback
  • Invites all stakeholders to participate, including introverts who may be less likely to speak up during a live, verbal call
  • I'd love to see Miro offer more "training" boards. I often do this myself... an introduction board where newbies can do simple things like play with post its, use emojis, put things in the right spots, etc.
  • I wish the "preview area" or "landing area" for a board were more intelligent. I often forget to update this and so people have to find where we are.
  • I wish it was a bit more affordable to have more official members. I make do with just two official owners and everyone else is a visitor.
  • Improved productivity around our #1 selling product, as well as improved team relations
  • Improved sense of inclusion for team members who have a more technical background, and are able to speak up via Miro
  • Efficiency in terms of costs and meetings -- we can do so much virtually that we may have only done in person before
We elected to use Miro for our Business & Economics products teams. We have our own license (I purchase it on my expense account) for two team members. I am always a constant but as our team makeup has changed, the secondary person's name has changed over time. Typically I or the other person are the only ones who need to set up the boards, and then the team has been able to use it for internal and external stakeholder conversations, where everyone else just joins as guests. It's been fine, but I would love to have it at more of an enterprise level.
Have not integrated but it won't let me skip.
This has been huge for us, and we first started adopting it shortly before the pandemic, but it's done incredible things to help us during the pandemic and afterward, as more and more team members have continued to work remotely. I think the inclusion of Miro has made our products better and improved the quality of our discourse because it's able to happen more regularly and with more groups of people.

MURAL was at one time the choice tool for virtual collaboration for my company, but at some point in 2019 there was a decision to move away from it and an intent to move to Miro. That never really transpired at an enterprise level, but I was so impressed by the possibilities that I purchased access for my team. MURAL seemed to be very similar, though my experience was mostly as a consumer/visitor, not a creator, so it's a bit hard to compare.
Miro seems to be especially great for things like brainstorming. There are tons of templates for that, and lots of creative ideas for how to do that. On the flipside I've found that I have several sort of standard needs where I've had to create my own templates for things, like customer journey mapping that does sort of exactly what I want it to. BUT the great news is that I can often find a template that sort of works and tweak it. So the possibilities are really endless... it's just a matter of how much work is required to get your board exactly where you want it to be.
