Overall Satisfaction with Miro
I use Miro for collaborative "brain storming" sessions with project and team members across Australia. As Miro has a low "getting familiar with it" hump for new users, I use it as a collaborative tool frequently, even with employees who haven't used it. I use it on hook ups where attendees can quickly and easily contribute to process flows, retro's, mind maps, customer journey maps, etc. The speed of putting something together means much can be accomplished in short meetings. I use it also as a personal "draft" space for creating content such as notes and actions.
- Ease of becoming familiar with it - new users often take only a few minutes to get "the basics". I have little concern, when introducing MIRO to new users, that too much of a meeting will be spent learning how to use a new tool.
- New users reach a higher skill floor far quicker than other collaborative tools - it's less "getting used to it" and more "what can't I do?". There's less reliance on needing to watch long videos to even start to use it.
- The GUI is a masterclass in simplicity and clarity. The icons for the various tools (symbols, "Post It" notes, style templates) make sense. It's very easy to explore and uncover new options - very "risk" free. It encourages creative approaches.
- Providing access to boards to new users within the organisation - often there's a few "gotcha's" that are an impediment to everyone being able to see a board, that don't seem to make sense at first glance. It's easily the biggest stumbling block.
- Being able to "group" resize multiple frames to the same "size" or zoom. Many boards have content within frames that are at different zoom levels. It would be great to "resize all" to one zoom level, one size, with one or two steps.
- Integration with AI to aid in content creation, or to add final touches to a collaborative exercise. For e.g. summarizing key take outs of a team or project retro activity.
- I was able to complete a Customer Journey Map for a complex legacy product, with dozens of variables end-to-end across the customer experience, collaborating with a large established product support team, in only 2 workshops plus a couple hours "clean up" for presentation.
- In my experience, working with established experienced teams who support legacy products, creating something as complex as a CJM covering dozens of customer experience variables, can take weeks. I honestly believe that as Miro was quick to understand, easy to use, it allowed all of us to create content with value, far quicker than traditional applications.
We have project team members across many states and cities in Australia.
Miro's ease of use allows for greater opportunities in using it across the business with teams and staff that haven't used it prior. The time taken for new users to become familiar with it is far less than other collaborative online "live" tools, leaving more time in the meeting to actually do what's required.
Miro's speed of creating content also means that everyone can do more. There's less "wrestling" with the application, and more time spent on adding content.
Overall, when someone says "we're using Miro for this", there are no "sighs"!

In my personal experience, Mural's feature set is not as comprehensive as Miro's and although it's easy to use, it's not as creative a tool as Miro can be.
Miro can perform Mural's functions and more. Additionally Miro is now completely integrated and Mural is still considered a 3rd party tool that we have to be careful about regarding confidential information.
