Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for payroll, time & labor, performance reviews, recruiting, benefits, and COBRA administration. We are currently in the process of implementing the Performance module. This will help alleviate the manual hours that are spent on sending out reviews to employees and their managers. I use Paylocity in almost everything I do.
  • Reporting
  • Time & Labor
  • Community
  • Reporting - Scheduled reports don't work like they should. Scheduled reports stop producing when the person who set the reports up leaves the business.
  • Terminating an employee in the system with a future date. We should be able to enter a future termination date without affecting the way we process payroll.
  • COBRA administration - hard to tell if the paperwork was actually sent. I have had to manually send it out a few times as the terminated employee stated they never received it.
  • New Hire notices - again, I'm not sure if this is being sent out, as this is a compliance thing; it should automatically be something that is done if the customer is using Onboarding.
  • The scheduled reports have been very frustrating. When they stop working, no one knows how to find the data themselves, so it takes time away from the HR team.
  • The overtime prediction is amazing, and helps us stay ahead of it.
The scheduling is better but is challenging, especially if an employee is in more than one department or a different business entity altogether. I would like to learn about attendance management. If we use the Time & Labor module, you would think that attendance would be part of it, but I haven't had time to learn. One thing to note, I have been with this company using Paylocity for 2 years. The company implemented it five years ago. When the HR Director left the business in May 2023, it really messed with the reports badly. Implementation for a company should not be based on one person's input.
We are still learning about this. Would love to learn more and use it, but I don't have time right now.
ADP is the best, by far! ADP is expensive, especially for small businesses. Paylocity is better than Kronos and Paycom, specifically for their reporting and payroll process.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

No

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Paylocity again?

No

Paylocity is not user-friendly if you operate using multiple FEINs under a parent company. Our employees cannot work at two different locations with ease of transition. This is a deal breaker.

Paylocity Support

Terrible. They claim to solve our issue/concern/question then send us a survey to rate them before they even know if the situation was resolved. This is very frustrating. I am going through an implementation right now, but have nothing negative to say yet. I am hoping that post implementation, I will still be able to get help, but am not hopeful. I have reached out for help with reports, COBRA administration, terminations, etc, but they always just send an article for me to read. As the HR Director was the only one who knew Paylocity in and out, it is frustrating to not know and what you don't even know because no one takes the time to train you.
