Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We utilize Paylocity as an all in one HRIS, ATS and Payroll system. It houses all our employee data, time off, work hours and pay information. We also integrate benefit enrollment and recruiting with the system to facilitate onboarding.
- Responsive customer service
- User friendly with easy navigation
- Constantly updating
- you get an account manager but never can get ahold of them directly and usually have to email or speak with someone who may or may not give you the right information. I have had to call several times to get a person who actually knew what they were talking about.
- There are some areas of the system the client is unable to update, we used to be able to get updates done over the phone but recently Paylocity reps are advising that we must complete forms for those system changes. IE time off policy months of service needed updating. benefit age tiers set up incorrectly and needed to be updated to get correct premiums for payroll. I had to wait 2-3 days for something that could have been resolved over the phone in 30min or so.
- When you do updates, especially to how the system looks, it makes some of the functionality go wonky in parts of the system. reports get slower. would recommend focusing on system updates vs how it looks.
- Helped us be more communicative with all employees
- easier to process payroll/pay changes
- easier to ensure all required docs for onboarding and new hires are done.
- easier to conduct, create and track trainings/skills.
The employees enjoy sharing recognition amongst each other and it is fun to see the messages on community between them all. we do look forward to learning more about the boost wallet and recognition portal you had advised of in your product update release a month ago or so.
Against Oracle, Paylocity's effective date system doesn't stand a chance. Plus Oracle has calendars on every screen so you can change the date and view how the data appeared as of the date you put in the system, you could see how the employee file was coded all the way back to the beginning. It had an audit trail for any changes made AND the effective dates actually pulled correctly for payroll. IE new hire starts 1/1/24, would not pull into batch with any pay data and new hire benefit enrollment would fire. In Paylocity, a new hire entered before I start the payroll batch automatically gets pulled into the batch with pay EVEN WHEN THEY ARE NOT HIRED ON THE PAYROLL DATES FOR THE BATCH. This is very frustrating. overall I like the functionality of Oracle better but it is not for small companies so Paylocity is a fairly decent alternative.
