Overall Satisfaction with Procore

Procore is currently being used by 95% of our company to provide a single use platform for our construction documentation. We use it in coordination with 2 other systems to to manage our onsite Health and Safety and to give direct feedback to our managers and directors in head office.
  • Document Control. One stop shop for plans that can be updated, marked up and easily distributed to all.
  • Quality and Safety Inspections. Easy to make forms and to fill out.
  • Incidents. The integration between Safety Observations and Incidents needs to be better, and to open up the Incident integration platform. This will allow for an easy measure of TRIFR rates, which are the standard measure of H&S onsite.
  • Documents. Be aware that now Procore is worldwide, there needs to be a little bit more flexibility to established doctrine within those countries. We have had a few issues with the specification tool in particular which we believe is due to be fixed.
Aconex has a better communication and formal documentation system. PlanGrid has a better drawing feature. Procore is the only one that incorporates all of the features. If you can get the mixture of the two Procore will be unbeatable. We have also used Uniphi which is a waste of time for Project Management.
There are times that I wouldn't want a client or subcontractor to know all of the details that we put into Procore so it is about controlling that information.
  • Yet to be determined
  • Gain visibility into projects
  • Ensure information is accessible and up to date
  • Document job site conditions
  • Report on incidents and inspections
  • Identify job site risks
We are only just starting to use the financial module to its full potential so are yet to see the full benefits of that full system.
Within the company it has been fine. In terms of external integration with the other IS providers we use there have been a few issues, particularly around the incidents.
It is well suited for the larger construction contracts in New Zealand. I would think that anything less than $5M would struggle to get reasonable usage/cost benefit out of it.
