Using Skype for consultations
Overall Satisfaction with Skype
I use Skype for clients who can't come to see me in person but still want the visual of seeing me. I do 30-minute and 60-minute client consultations using Skype. Mostly for overseas clients. I offer either Skype or Facetime when someone wants to have a remote face to face meeting.
Pros
- Client meetings are very affordable for overseas clients.
- Provides a quality visual remote experience for clients that can't come to my office
Cons
- The screen can freeze during a call and usually requires disconnecting and redialing. This happens approximately one in four calls.
- Sometimes there is a reverb in the background so I hear myself talking a few seconds after I am actually talking.
- The screen sometimes pixelates for a while during the call.
- Skype has had an overall positive impact on my business objectives though I find that other platforms are requested by my clients instead of Skype.
- Skype has allowed my clients who can't visit me in person to have a better personal experience than a phone call. So a positive effect on my business objectives to provide flexible, quality services to clients
- I'm not aware of all the features Skype offers so it's possible there are other benefits to using Skype that I'm not taking advantage of.
I chose SKYPE because for the most part it works for me and I understand it. I don't like using FB for more than just social media due to lack of privacy issues.
