Acoustic Analytics (formerly IBM Watson Customer Experience Analytics)

  • As mentioned earlier, transactional heavy web assets such as eStores are particularly strong candidates.
  • IBM CXA along with other, similar tools, is not set-and-forget. The solution must be well managed in order to deliver value. Purchase of the solution is one thing; driving analytic results is another. If a company's staff are not strong analytical thinkers, CXA will not help. IBM CXA is not just a technology platform - it is a basis to design strong customer touchpoints and interactions. You need to be customer journey design literate to get the best from this.

Heap

I would like to say that this platform is great and incredible. If you are not too sure about where to invest in your Product Analytics then I think you have stopped at the right place because this will cater to all of your requirements in a very good way. In the case of already having good analytic software, I would still recommend you to use this software because this software is a very useful tool for backing up all of your front-end data.

Pros

Acoustic Analytics (formerly IBM Watson Customer Experience Analytics)

  • Tealeaf provides a unique view into a website beyond what typical web analytics can provide.
  • It captures all of a website's traffic, no need to tag pages or decide ahead of time what data you want to capture.
  • Data is captured and processed in real-time which reveal unknown issues as they are happening.
  • Replay session to see what a customer or user actually did and not just they remember doing when a problem occured.

Heap

  • Heap makes it simple to define elements in your application to track engagement with.
  • Heap is great because it's always tracking everything so you don't have to define everything you want to track immediately. The data is always there for you to investigate.
  • Support is great and perhaps the thing that is most valuable. They're always happy to help you in whatever you're trying to achieve with Heap.

Cons

Acoustic Analytics (formerly IBM Watson Customer Experience Analytics)

  • IBM CXA leverages script tagging to inspect specific behaviour patterns. A tagging engine against your web assets is a must-have to simplify script insertion and avoid having to leverage internal IT resources to modify web code.
  • Tag management is perhaps the most challenging aspect of IBM CXA. In our view, this could be abstracted further and therefore simplified.
  • We would like to see connectors with UBX to common platforms such as CRM, marketing automation. The more this is readily available, the quicker the time to value for clients.

Heap

  • Heap creates a "misunderstanding" between marketing and our data team. It is easy to create a report that shows a story that is not true due to incorrect filters/data elements.
  • Breakdowns on some data is not available and it makes it hard to get the exact report you need.
  • We have tons of reports, all almost the exact same. It is too hard to find them unless you already know that they exist.

The comprehensive set of tools IBM Tealeaf provides is so unique to what it can do. It continually provides value beyond what it costs. It is like free money. There hasn't been a tool that has replace what it can do. Without it, people and teams managing their application or website would be much more difficult

Heap helps me understand key data points without fussing with the formatting of a dashboard. It gives me the benefit of data analyzation without the fuss of the formatting - as well as the ease of sharing data collected with my colleagues

On a scale from 1-10, I find Heap to be incredibly user-friendly and easy to use. I enjoyed the training videos available and was quickly able to pick up how to create events and reports to track user interactions on our product. I would recommend Heap for its usability first and foremost.

Heap doesn't affect page load times considerably nor has a large impact [on] our overall score, as far as page loading times inside of the tool its pretty reliable to retrieve data as much as "instant" that it can be the delay seems to be on data getting tracked into the servers to be read but it's not significant.

The implementation was more straightforward than I imagined it would be. There was minimal set up required from our internal developers. Training was the biggest hurdle.

Analytics! We want to utilize software that gave us basic information back. Obviously, with technology becoming smarter, more updated and more efficient, we converted to software that would handle that...IBM. we've realized that analytics are so beneficial to the reelection process, how we communicate with constituents and the way we relay information to the community.

Heap

Heap's implementation is by far the easiest across the different analytics products I've used. The only downside is that the analysis part is a bit more confusing to set up, and sometimes the confidence of the auto track is a bit shaky, although, these issues can usually be reconciled down the line as the raw data is solid.

Return on Investment

Acoustic Analytics (formerly IBM Watson Customer Experience Analytics)

  • Best tool to measure and track our website activity.
  • Gives us an idea of which strategy on our layout is working better.
  • Representation of data through graphs and charts is very helpful.

Heap

  • At Boardable we use data from Heap to calculate a Product Qualified Lead score, and a churn score, to first qualify Free Trial accounts and assign them to Sales reps and then to find customers at risk of churning. Having the ability to find the highest opportunity prospects has made our Sales team a lot more efficient (70% of our trials spend less than 5 minutes in the product and we keep those off the Sales team's desk, focusing them on the 30% that are indicated to convert, which brought our overall conversion rate up 40% month-over-month).
  • Heap is critical for our Growth team to optimize the user journey to find the value in our product as quickly as possible. We formed the Growth team and bought Heap at the same time, and the first couldn't operate without the second. Our first big win using Heap was improving our sign-up flow (a very common blind-spot for product led companies), increasing the number of successful sign-ups by 200%.
  • Saving person-hours: Heap has freed up so many hours of time (20/wk ~= $1000/wk) that we were spending doing analytics manually. Taking things off the Engineering team's plate was key, and Heap more than pays for itself just in the amount of time we get back.
