There are so many ways it could improve with just smoother functionality and UI/UX, mostly in the ways I said it needed improvement that are quite major. But overall I think it has the right ideas and tries to offer a lot of options for marketing tasks and a solid system for working with a marketing funnel.

If you have an in-house expert, then this product, due to its customization abilities, is a great choice for a CRM. However, due to Creatio's low-code approach, there are areas where end-users can make their own changes and customizations without the need for a developer. One such case is building out team dashboards for real-time reporting.

Pros

Act-On

  • Act-On's customer service is exceptional, they are quick and thorough when you are needing help. For example, we could not figure out how to automate a birthday date for our birthday campaign and the representative was able to walk through the process with myself and another team member. This is a strength of Act-On because many other companies do not have customer services that will speak with you, they direct you to blogs or informational sessions.
  • The landing pages that Act-On has created for use on the web is exceptional. The formatting is very user-friendly and the templates are great to navigate. The landing pages allow you to make the page fit whatever campaign or reason you are in need of. This is a strength of Act-On because the landing pages resolve the issue of having to create actual web pages.
  • The spam feature of Act-On's emails is a great add on. This feature allows you to test how the spam alerts are triggered in your email and how you can fix it. This has helped many emails be developed in a way so that they reach many more people than they would have without this feature. many other programs do not have this feature.

  • Customization: We have heavily customized the system. Creatio has been excellent in helping build requirements & see these through to implementation.
  • The system is really easy to use. Users pick it up & love it immediately.
  • Support is superb: If we have any issues or want to change the system at all, the team is always there helping by being fast, efficient & friendly
  • Cost: Definitely competitive.

  • Building email and landing page templates are difficult, the drag and drop builder is not straightforward, and requires coding knowledge
  • The workflow tool is cumbersome and not as intuitive as I'd expect a best in class marketing software's to be
  • Domain connections and domain management functionality made it difficult to manage multiple company domains and subdomains for pages

  • We look forward to further enhancements in ML (even though Creatio already has some AI-powered solutions in place).

It's good, but not quite brilliant. Some parts of the interface are still a bit outdated. The product has been evolving very fast, though, and I believe in a few months it will be up there with the best of them, interface wise as well.

They are conscientious and skilled in discussing my concern and finding a solution to my problem. Other tech organizations should use Act-On as a model for top-notch customer service.

Often we need to integrate with legacy systems and we find the support team on our side during the whole endeavor. Always asking if they can help us further, always willing to do a better job. What impressed me most is that Act-On showed full committment in making our implementation successful, even when it required additional support from their team. This gave me a lot of warm and fuzzy feelings. Most other software software vendors are not anywhere close to being this responsive and effective

Act-On

Act-On does most everything that Marketo and HubSpot can and Act-On does some of them better and some of them worse. I've outlined the strengths and weaknesses of Act-On already. I am familiar with Marketo and HubSpot but not familiar enough with them to create a matrix type of comparison. Some of the differences are just different, not better or worse. For example, Marketo throws all the contacts into a master list of sorts and segments are created via queries. Act-On has user-created lists and segments built off each list.

  • Negative: Difficult on-boarding, sometimes seems like UI is outdated, so training first time was quite difficult.

  • bpm'online is a bit pricey, so utilizing it in place of other tools to help on your ROI is important.
  • Users are seeing the value of a consolidated information source and buy-in is quicker than it was with Salesforce or GoldMine.
